Flights to Seychelles

When you think about the Seychelles, you’ll most likely imagine picture-perfect beaches and luxurious resorts filled with happy newlyweds. And that isn't far from the truth.

Flights to Seychelles connect through Mahé, the largest of the 115 islands that make up this unique country. It not only boasts the capital Victoria, but is also home to about 90% of the archipelago’s population.

In terms of where to stay, the island is home to more than just high-end hotels; there’s a surprising array of budget-friendly, bed-and-breakfast, and self-catering options.

While the resorts tend to claim their own patches of sand, there are plenty of stunning public beaches too. It’s really just a matter of packing a picnic, picking a stretch of coast, and settling in to soak up the sun and the views. And once you are done with beach life, there are lush jungles to explore, mountains to traverse, and local markets where you can get your shopping fix and pick up some souvenirs.

Most of these markets are in the capital, Victoria, which is worth a visit if you can drag yourself away from the resort. Party the night away with the locals or simply chill out at a shoreline lounge and watch the sun set as you dig into some of the best seafood you'll ever eat.

What to do in Seychelles

Play a round of golf

Golf enthusiasts dream of teeing off in beautiful sunshine, so it would be a shame not to hit the fairways of Seychelles Golf Club. The nine holes provide a good challenge and are the perfect way to keep a swing in check or simply enjoy being out under the Seychelles sky.

Explore Victoria at night

Victoria is certainly exciting enough to tempt you away from your resort. The central hub is the Eden Island Marina, where restaurants, street performers, and lounges jostle for space. The pick of the bunch is the Boardwalk Bar, with casual dining in the early evening and live music as the night progresses.

Visit Seychelles National Botanical Gardens

Located on the outskirts of Victoria, these beautiful gardens, which were planted more than a century ago, are home to lots of wild animals, including giant tortoises and bats. The backdrop of fruit and palm trees creates a serene atmosphere and makes for a great family day out.

Anse Soleil Café (Seafood)

The food is fantastic as well, especially the octopus curry and the grilled crab. The vibe is always lively and the owner is a real character.
