Bonus Tier Miles on flights
We’re also making it easier for you to earn Tier Miles with Emirates and flydubai. If you’re flying with us until August 31, 2026, you’ll earn 20% bonus Tier Miles regardless of your booking date.
Spending Skywards Miles on flights and upgrades
We’re updating how you spend Skywards Miles to reflect current travel trends. From May 20, 2026, the number of Miles required for Classic Rewards in First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy as well as Upgrade Rewards will increase.
In Business Class, one-way Saver Classic Reward fares are being introduced at 50% of the return fare.
Updated reward and upgrade rates may take a few days to reflect correctly on the Miles Calculator. Miles quoted at the time of booking are the correct reference while the update is in progress.
Reduced tier requirements
Until August 31, 2026, you can maintain your current tier membership or move up to the next with just 80% of the required Tier Miles or qualifying flights:
- Silver: 20,000 Tier Miles or 20 qualifying flights
- Gold: 40,000 Tier Miles or 40 qualifying flights
- Platinum: 120,000 Tier Miles with one flight in First Class or Business Class

Tier Review
Emirates Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum member tier downgrades have been put on hold until June 30, 2026. If your tier review date falls between March 31, 2026 and May 31, 2026, this will be extended until June 30, 2026, giving you time to continue your journey if your travel plans have been disrupted. If your tier review date has passed and your benefits are due to expire by May 2026, the validity of your benefits has now been extended until June 30, 2026.
Skywards Miles expiry
The validity of any unredeemed Skywards Miles due to expire between March 31 and May 31 has been extended until June 30, 2026. You can continue to spend them on rewards until June 30, 2026. We’ve also extended the validity of any Skywards Miles you’ve spent on rewards that have been canceled due to the travel disruptions until June 30, 2026. The extension applies to all Miles in your individual, Skysurfers and My Family accounts. You’ll see your extended validity dates in your Emirates Skywards profile by the 30th of your Miles’ expiration month.
Exclusive Platinum Privileges
The expiry of any activated discounted and complimentary cabin upgrades has been put on hold until June 30, 2026. If the validity of your discounted or complimentary cabin upgrade falls between March 31, 2026 and May 31, 2026, you can continue to use these benefits until June 30, 2026. If you have activated the Tier Miles Rollover benefit and are benefiting from the extended tier review period, you can carry forward up to 50,000 Tier Miles earned during this period to your next Platinum tier cycle.
Skywards+
Skywards+ packages and privileges expiring between March 31 and May 31 have been extended until June 30, 2026, so you’ll have more time to use your travel benefits such as airport lounge access, discounted Upgrade Rewards or Classic Rewards. You can also use any Classic Reward Vouchers due to expire between March 31 and May 31 until June 30, 2026, even if you’ve redeemed the voucher but have not been able to use it due to the current travel disruptions.
