Boarding at the railway station

  • You can board applicable trains directly without exchanging your ticket or boarding pass for a separate Trenitalia ticket.
  • You’ll automatically be assigned a car and seat number. You can find these details on your ticket in Manage a Booking or through the Trenitalia ticketing kiosks at railway stations.
  • On board the train, a ticket collector will ask you for either your PNR (booking reference) or ticket number and a personal identification document.

Baggage information

  • Our generous baggage allowance applies to train journeys.
  • It’s your responsibility to collect your checked bags from the arrival hall at the airport and carry them to your train, and vice versa.
  • You are responsible for your own baggage during the train journey.

Trenitalia will provide complimentary meals and snacks depending on the train you’re traveling on and your class of travel.

Frecciarossa train
Executive Class: Snacks and soft drinks

Standard Class: No complimentary meals, snacks, or drinks

Frecciargento & Frecciabianca trains
First Class: Snacks and soft drinks except on Saturdays

Airport-to-railway station transfer guide

Rome

Passengers on board an Emirates flight arriving at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and direct to Roma Termini railway station (XRJ) for the onward journey by train are entitled to transfer between Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and Roma Termini using the Leonardo Express train shuttle.

Passengers will be requested by Leonardo Express staff to provide Emirates booking reference.


Milan

Emirates codeshare passengers must make their own arrangements to transfer between Milan Malpensa airport (MXP) and Milano Centrale train station (XIK).

The recommended mode of transfer is the Malpensa Express train service (50 minutes); other transportation options, such as bus and taxi, are available (60–100 minutes).


Bologna

Emirates codeshare passengers must make their own arrangements to transfer between Bologna Airport (BLQ) and Bologna Central Railway Station (IBT).

The recommended mode of transfer is bus (30 minutes); taxi service is also available (20–30 minutes).


Venice

Emirates codeshare passengers must make their own arrangements to transfer between Venice Marco Polo airport (VCE) and Venezia S. Lucia train station (XVQ)/Venezia Mestre train station (XVY).

The recommended mode of transfer is bus (30 minutes to Venezia S. Lucia train station [XVQ] or 20–30 minutes to Venezia Mestre train station [XVY]); other options are available, including taxi and water taxi (20–45 minutes).

Special assistance

The following special assistance requests will be supported by Trenitalia:

  • Wheelchair (WCHR/WCHS) assistance for disabled passengers with intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as deaf and blind passengers needing assistance (DPNA/DEAF/BLND)
  • Passengers who have the above SSRs confirmed are required to be with an advance of at least about 30 minutes at designated ‘Sale Blu’ counters at each station indicated here (Opens an external website in a new tab).
  • These accommodations must be requested at least 72 hours before departure.

Lounge access

Passengers traveling in Trenitalia Executive Class will need to show their Emirates ticket to gain access to the dedicated lounge where it is available and they are eligible.

Fast track

Passengers traveling in Trenitalia Executive Class will need to show their Emirates ticket to gain access to the Fast Track facility at Rome and Milan station security.

Your journey includes two distinct trips governed by separate contracts of carriage. These distinct trips are provided by two separate transport providers and have different applicable terms and conditions.
