Emirates Wolgan Valley introduces exclusive Artist-in-Residence Program

4 September 2012

SYDNEY, Australia, 04th September 2012: Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa, the international award-winning luxury resort will launch its inaugural Artist-in-Residence Program throughout November 2012.

The intimate art-class program, priced at $300 per person, includes up to three sessions of art instruction by local landscape artist Georgia Mansur. Aimed at beginners and improvers, the local and internationally experienced artist will explain and illustrate methods to develop guests’ artistic skills and teach watercolour techniques.

“It’s a pleasure to have this opportunity to work with Emirates Wolgan Valley. The natural habitat, wildlife and incredible landscapes are so inspiring – who wouldn’t be stimulated by the natural beauty of the valley,” said Ms Mansur.

“These intimate art classes are about meeting like-minded people and releasing your creativity. The property spans across 4,000 acres of conservation-reserve, so it’s enveloped with colourful fauna and flora, and has an array of movement, shapes, sounds and landscapes to inspire even the beginner,” added Ms Mansur.

“At Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa we aim to continually enrich the quality and variety of experiences, and we’re excited for guests to discover new experiences and memories each time they visit the resort,” said Joost Heymeijer, General Manager, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa

“We look forward to Georgia’s wealth of experience and talent, and witnessing the creativity of our guests,” concluded Mr Heymeijer.

A scenic three-hour drive from Sydney, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa features 40 individual suites, each with its own private deck and swimming pool. Nestled between two National Parks and bordering the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, the secluded luxury resort actively protects its surrounding habitat and indigenous wildlife species while delivering the first-class standards and quality expected from luxury resorts.

Priced at AU$300 per person, the Artist-in-Residence package includes up to three sessions of art instruction by artist Georgia Mansur with outdoor sketching sessions, sketch pads, pencils, paint/water colours, easels, and brushes, and an artist’s pack including a course syllabus to be given to guests to take away. Guests will also be provided with light refreshments during all painting sessions.

The talented Georgia Mansur will explain and illustrate methods on how to interpret and paint what is seen including trees, buildings, wildlife and the landscape itself; and guests will also learn watercolour techniques whilst completing their own painting.
