Baggage allowances

What is my allowance for checked baggage?

Emirates has one of the world's most generous baggage policies.

Economy Class customers can check up to 35 kg (77 lb) depending on the fare type, Business Class passengers up to 40 kg (88 lb), and First Class passengers up to 50 kg (110 lb). Passengers in all three classes can check in as many pieces of baggage as they wish as long as it stays within the total checked weight limit for their cabin class.

These weight limits do not apply to itineraries involving North, Central, or South America, or to flights departing from Africa. You can read our dedicated weight and piece FAQ for more information on baggage allowances for these itineraries.

In addition, different baggage rules may apply on flights operated by other airlines.

If you have calculated your allowance to be more than 32 kg (71 lb), please note that Dubai Civil Aviation prohibits the acceptance of any single piece of baggage weighing more than 32 kg (71 lb) for flights into, out of, or via Dubai International airport.
