|Airport news||Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport was almost entirely redeveloped prior to South Africa’s hosting of the 2010 World Cup, including the construction of a link between the terminal buildings and a new 5,200 capacity car park.|
|Transfer between terminals||A free shuttle bus operates between the terminals and car parks. The terminals are situated in one large complex, enabling passengers to walk from one to the other.|
|Driving directions||From Johannesburg, take the R24 to the airport; from Pretoria, take the R21. The airport is clearly signposted from these approach roads.|
|Car rental||Car hire companies Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Imperial, Khaya, National, Sizwe and Tempest are located in the multi-storey car park opposite the domestic terminal.|

Official taxis operate from in front of the multi-storey car park building. The journey time to central Johannesburg is upwards of 30 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) and the fare is around R500.

) runs between Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport, Malboro and Sandton. The travel time to Malboro is 10 minutes and Sandton 15 minutes, while fares to both start at R115.
|Car parking||There are several car parks offering short- and long-term parking, including an underground facility as well as outdoor and covered areas. A free 24-hour shuttle bus service operates between the furthest away car parks and the terminals. |Information and help desks||Airport information desks are located in the arrivals and departures areas of the international terminal and also in the arrivals halls of the domestic terminal. The Gauteng Tourism Authority Information Desk is situated in the International Arrivals Terminal (tel: (011) 390 3614/02).|
There are ATMs, banks and bureaux de change within the terminals.
There is an on-site post office. Mobile telephone hire is also available. Passengrs can make use of paid-for wireless internet access in the international departures area.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink at O. R. Tambo International Airport. These outlets include cafés, juice bars, steak houses and fast-food restaurants.
Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport has a wide variety of shops, including a duty-free mall in Terminal A. Among the specialist shops are gift retailers, bookshops, designer clothing brands and jewellers.
A left-luggage facility (tel: (011) 390 1804) is available on the upper level of the underground car park, just off the international arrivals area. Porters can be found in the arrivals halls and can be recognised by bright orange uniforms and ACSA badges – tipping is recommended. Visitors should not use unauthorised porters.
Among the airport's other facilities is a 24-hour medical clinic, chapel, Muslim prayer room and baby change facilities.
|Conference and business facilities||The airport’s business centre (tel: (011) 921 6262) has a range of facilities, including fax, telephone and secretarial services. The Premier Conference Centre (tel: (011) 390 1084) in the domestic terminal offers four meeting rooms seating up to 14 delegates, a seminar facility for up to 50 guests and a conference room for up to 120 people. Meeting facilities can also be found at some of the nearby hotels.|
|Disabled facilities||The airport is easily accessible, with lifts (two of which are equipped with Braille signage) and ramps throughout the terminals.Disabled parking spaces are available. The free shuttle service that serves the remote car parking area can accommodate passengers in wheelchairs.
