Flights to Paris

It’s little wonder Paris is one of the most visited cities on the planet. The French capital is home to some of the most iconic attractions in the world, from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame and the Champs-Elysées. So it’s no surprise the City of Light welcomes more than 27 million visitors a year, mostly on flights to Paris Charles De Gaulle.

Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements, which are arranged in a clockwise spiral starting at the city center, which is where you'll find the biggest sights. For example, in the first arrondissement you’ll find the Louvre, where you can queue up to gaze at the Mona Lisa (or simply stand outside and admire architect I.M. Pei’s famous pyramid).

Strolling around the streets of Paris can feel like walking through a film set. So many directors have been inspired to set their films in this picturesque city, from Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie) to Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris).

But it’s not a case of style over substance; this is, after all, the city that gave us Coco Chanel and it continues to nurture a wealth of design talent. Delve beneath the surface, and there’s an exciting subculture of hip restaurants, cafes, and galleries where young creatives are doing their best to create a second Belle Epoque.

Wherever you decide to invest your time, be it the iconic city center or the unexplored outer edges, it’s unlikely that you’ll leave the most romantic city in the world without falling in love.

What to do in Paris

Wander through the Latin Quarter

This Gothic neighborhood is popular with visitors and packed with attractions. There are some amazing examples of Gothic architecture, including the church of St. Etienne du Mont and the world-famous Place du Panthéon. If you can, stop and have lunch at Le Reminet, an off-the-beaten-track bistro.

Visit the art galleries of Paris

One of the best things about visiting Paris is the chance to see some of the greatest art galleries in the world. Join the crowds in front of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, or seek out other treasures such as the Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay, Musée Rodin and the Musée Marmottan Monet.

Tour Père Lachaise Cemetery

A visit to a cemetery may not sound like a fun day out in Paris, but Père Lachaise is more interesting than most. This green space is the final resting place of some of the most famous figures in history, from Oscar Wilde to Jim Morrison.

Where to eat in Paris

Allard (French)

This traditional Parisian bistro has been serving hungry locals and visitors since 1932, with a focus on quality ingredients and strong cooking traditions. Here you’ll find classic French cuisine; think tender fish fillets swimming in a rich beurre blanc sauce, frogs’ legs, and comforting cassoulets.

Pierre Hermé (Patisserie)

An essential part of any trip to Paris is indulging in a few pastries, and there’s no one better to guide you than Pierre Hermé. The former Fauchon pastry chef and macaroon master has two patisseries – one on Rue Bonaparte and the other on Rue de Vaugirard – where you can pick up a sweet treat.

Le Coq Rico (French)

The house specialty at this Montmartre restaurant – classic whole roast chicken – really lives up to its name, which translates to ‘the finest rooster’. The roast comes perfectly flavoured with a crispy skin, and serves four people. All the ingredients are ethically sourced, and while it’s not the cheapest meal in Paris, it’s worth every cent.
