Amongst Few cafe

amongst few unveils a cafe space that merges seamlessly into the neighbourhood, extending the brand’s aesthetics into lifestyle and food. Before the opening of this full-fledged coffee-shop-meets-creative space, the brand had garnered much attention for its ability to merge different worlds and curate its own ‘amongst few’ identity.

The cafe sits adjacent to the ‘amongst few’ brick and mortar store in the Jumeirah 1 suburb, surrounded by several symbolic Dubai landmarks, including Union House, Jumeriah Mosque and several beautiful beaches.

The Dubai-based space – that features distinct ‘amongst few’ architectural direction – boasts cement and breeze-block walls, counters and floors in a steel and natural wood wrapped interior housed beneath a raw, exposed ceiling showcasing visual arts. Founders Flo Moser and Mike Taylor were looking to maintain some of the character of the original flagship store, with the space echoing the aesthetics of the store while adapting new features, such as bi-folding windows and doors, a dedicated working table, and an outdoor area that embraces a quiet space while keeping the surrounding environment in mind.

The menu offers a rotating combination of organic meats and dairy served alongside fresh, seasonal dishes embracing various cuisines, including Thai, Italian, Portuguese, British and Japanese fusions. The ‘amongst few’ name is well known for its premium, organic fair-trade coffee sourced directly from Ethiopia’s Kaffa province and locally roasted in the UAE.
