London Gatwick is 45km south of Central London, close to the town of Crawley.
The airport is well connected by rail services, with the Gatwick Express, a direct, non-stop service from London Victoria departing twice an hour and arriving in 30 minutes. The Thameslink train services from Central London stations like London Bridge and St Pancras International also go to London Gatwick, taking roughly 45 minutes.
If you’re arriving from Reading, our partnership with Great Western Rail allows you to combine your flight and rail journey to London Gatwick in one ticket. This partnership means you’ll receive two rail tickets, valid on Great Western Rail trains from several stations across south-west England to Reading - and from Reading to the airport. It takes approximately an hour and a half to get from Reading to London Gatwick via train.
There are several coach and bus services that reach London Gatwick from Central London in around an hour and 45 minutes. By car, it’s generally an hour and a half using the M23. There are various car parks at London Gatwick, from short-stay and long-stay to premium and valet parking.

You’ll then have a simple connection in Dubai for your flight to Kathmandu. You’ll head to Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal’s primary international airport, with our partner flydubai. While there aren’t any train connections from the airport, you can easily get to Kathmandu with a pre-arranged transfer or taxi. There are also bus services that reach the city in roughly an hour. Take one of the green buses heading towards Ratna Park from outside the arrivals hall.
By car, Kathmandu city centre is a 15-minute journey from the airport. You can also reach Bhaktapur, another key city in the Kathmandu Valley, in around 25 minutes.
In Kathmandu, you’ll be met by energetic, colourful streets lined with incredible ancient architecture and backdropped by mesmerising snowy peaks. There are several magnificent World Heritage Sites, including historic Buddhist stupas and three incredible Durbar Squares. There are countless opportunities to sample internationally known Nepalese cuisine and the Himalayan mountain range is just a short journey away.
Situated on a hill in the Kathmandu Valley west of the city, Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex believed to have been established over 2,000 years ago. Head to this symbolic architectural masterpiece via a 365-step stone stairway and spot the legendary free roaming monkeys that earn the site its ‘Monkey Temple’ moniker.
