Travel to Iran
Effective 5 August 2020, all passengers regardless of point of origin or nationality must complete the COVID-19 screening self-declaration form and present it to the health representatives on arrival.
All passengers, including Iranian nationals, who are over two years old must carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate issued no later than 96 hours before departure. The certificate is mandatory to be accepted on the flight.
Exception: Iranian nationals not holding a negative test result can be accepted with a form of indemnity (FOI). They will undergo a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival and will be isolated in IBIS Hotel for 48 hours until the test result is received. Passengers must cover the costs of the test and hotel stay.
All passengers arriving in Tehran will undergo thermal screening, and suspected COVID-19 cases will be isolated, regardless of their negative test result certificate.
Iranian nationals must complete an indemnity form and quarantine themselves at the specified address (preferably their own home) for 14 days. Non Iranian nationals will be quarantined at the Ministry of Health assigned IBIS International Airport Hotel for 14 days.
All costs for the COVID-19 PCR test (around USD 17) as well as hotel quarantine charges (around USD 30 per night) will be at the passenger’s expense.
Tourist or Visit visas will not be issued on arrival.
For passengers from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India travelling on a Business Visa, the sponsoring company must get approval from the Iranian Ministry of Health, which the passenger must present at check-in. Business travellers whose visas were approved online must complete a self-assessment form.
Travel from Iran
All passengers travelling with Emirates from Iran must present a printed copy of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate. The test must be conducted within 96 hours of departure. Bring an official printed certificate – SMS and digital certificates are not accepted. All passengers will be required to under a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai.
