Passengers arriving into Germany from a high-risk area must take a COVID-19 PCR test either within 48 hours in advance at the point of departure or within 10 days after entering Germany. The test on arrival is free of charge only for passengers arriving from high-risk areas and can be conducted at test centres at selected German airports. Passengers must retain their boarding passes or other proof of the flight to be eligible for the free COVID-19 PCR test. Tests for travelers from non-risk areas are no longer free of charge. Additionally, all passengers arriving from high risk countries must complete the Passenger Locator Card that is provided on board.
