As part of our commitment to looking after our planet, we operate one of the most modern and efficient aircraft fleets in the sky. We are actively working on ways to reduce resource consumption, while investing in conservation and wildlife protection.

Our environmental focus
Emirates is committed to environmental stewardship and focuses on three areas: reducing emissions, consuming responsibly, and preserving wildlife and habitats. In line with these efforts, we are implementing the IATA Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) system, a comprehensive environmental management system that covers our flight operations, corporate activities, and an illegal wildlife trade module that supports our commitment. Our goal is to reduce our environmental impact and become a leader in sustainable aviation practices.
Reducing emissions
Operating modern and fuel efficient aircraft has been central to Emirates’ business model from the airline’s inception. We fly one of the youngest wide-body aircraft fleets in the sky with an average age of 6.5 years. This ongoing, multi-billion dollar investment, is Emirates’ biggest commitment - not only to passenger comfort, but also to reducing our environmental impact.
Consuming responsibly
Emirates is committed to reducing our environmental impact through responsible consumption - by making careful decisions about what items we purchase, how we source them, how we manage the disposal of waste, and how we consume water and power.
Preserving wildlife and habitats
The beauty and bio-diversity of our world is an inspiration for travel, and Emirates is committed to doing our part to preserve natural habitats and stop the illegal wildlife trade which is driving endangered species to the brink of extinction.
