Visit Mukuvisi Woodlands Environmental Centre

The seven-kilometre trip out of the city to Mukuvisi Woodlands Environmental Centre is worth it. The 263-hectare parkland is home to a variety of animals, including zebras, giraffes and crocodiles. It is also an excellent place for birdwatching – bring binoculars.

Trade on the tobacco floor

The sights, the smells, the shouting – tobacco trading sees farmers stood opposite brokers, eye-to-eye, negotiating prices for the huge bales that sit between them. These energetic auctions take place from February to August, and really is an unforgettable viewing experience.
