• Can I spend my Skywards Miles on flight rewards for friends and family?

  Yes, you can. Booking an Emirates flight reward for someone else follows the same process as booking for yourself. Simply visit Emirates’ online booking page, toggle the Classic Rewards option, and enter the passenger details accordingly.

• Does the fare type I book matter if I want to redeem an upgrade reward?

  Yes, the fare brand you choose makes a big difference when it comes to upgrade eligibility and how many Skywards Miles you’ll need to redeem.

  While you can request an upgrade during check-in or even on board (subject to availability), if you’re looking to secure your upgrade in advance, here’s how it works for each fare type:

  • Special fares: Not eligible for upgrades.
  • Saver fares: Can only be upgraded at online check-in between 48 and 6 hours before departure. These require more Skywards Miles than Flex and Flex+ fare types.
  • Flex and Flex+ fares: As long as there are seats available, you can redeem your upgrade online any time up to six hours before departure. Flex requires fewer Skywards Miles than Saver, and Flex+ even fewer.

  When you book, you’ll be able to see whether your fare is upgradeable right away or only later  - and exactly how many Skywards Miles are needed.

• Can I upgrade one part of a multi-flight journey?

  Depending on the zones you are flying through and where you stopover or transit, it may be possible to upgrade just one section of your journey.

  If you are travelling on a multiflight journey where partial upgrading is allowed and you would like to use your Skywards Miles for an instant upgrade at the check-in desk, you will also need to make additional requests at any transfer desks or stopover destinations. Please ask for more details when you first check in.

  Please note that on some multiflight journeys, you will be upgraded only if seats are available on the entire journey. Please call your nearest Emirates Contact Centre regarding a specific booking.

• What flight related products and services can you pay for using Cash+Miles?

  When traveling with Emirates and flydubai, you can use Cash+Miles to also pay for:

  • Lounge Access (Emirates)
  • Excess Baggage (Emirates & flydubai)
  • Paid Seat Selection (Emirates & flydubai)
  • Meals (flydubai)
  • Insurance (flydubai)

• What if I cannot travel before my Skywards Miles expire?

  Although your Skywards Miles must be redeemed before they expire, you can use them to book a reward ticket that is valid for up to 12 months. This means that even if you can’t travel before your Miles expire, you can still redeem them now for a future trip.

  If you have any Skywards Miles in your account that are due to expire in the next 3 months, you can pay to extend their validity for another 12 months beyond the date of the original expiry.
