Although your Skywards Miles must be redeemed before they expire, you can use them to book a reward ticket that is valid for up to 12 months. This means that even if you can’t travel before your Miles expire, you can still redeem them now for a future trip.
If you have any Skywards Miles in your account that are due to expire in the next 3 months, you can pay to extend their validity for another 12 months beyond the date of the original expiry. Please visit the Buy Miles page for complete details.
To spend your Miles on a reward with participating partners, including partner airlines (with the exception of flydubai), please fill in the relevant online reward request form. When you have submitted the form, your nearest Emirates Contact Centre will get in touch with you to confirm the details. Please allow a maximum of seven working days for the request to be processed, although we will do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.
Some countries levy additional taxes or charges when you travel in a higher class. You will be informed of any additional charges when upgrading your booking.
If you are upgrading online, the additional taxes and charges must be paid for by credit card during the upgrade process. If you do not have a credit card, please get in touch with an Emirates Contact Centre to arrange for payment to be made at your local Emirates office or ticket desk.
You can visit the Book a flight page and Manage your booking page to spend your Skywards Miles on Emirates flight rewards. You can also use your Skywards Miles to easily upgrade any existing Emirates flight booking, including those of friends and family, by going to Manage a Booking, subject to seat availability and applicable upgrade restrictions*. Emirates Special tickets can’t be upgraded. Business Class Saver Fare tickets can be upgraded at any time up to six hours before departure. Economy Class Saver tickets can only be upgraded at the time of online check-in, at the airport or on board. Platinum, Gold and Silver members can also request an upgrade on board. When you book your ticket, it will clearly show whether you can upgrade your fare immediately after purchase or if upgrades are only available at check-in. If you need to make other changes, please contact your local Emirates office. If you have booked through a travel agent and have not yet started your journey, we recommend you contact your agent to make any changes. There may be a charge to make changes to your booking, depending on the fare conditions of your ticket.
