FAMILY TRAVEL
Our Unaccompanied Minors service is for children aged between 5 and 11 who are flying alone. Our service also applies to children aged between 5 and 11 years old who are flying in a different cabin class to their parent or guardian. They will only be considered accompanied if they are travelling in the same cabin class with a passenger over 16 years old.
You can also make a special request for our Unaccompanied Minors service for solo travellers aged between 12 and 15 if you’d like us to be with them on their journey.
We’ll help your child to enjoy a fun and memorable trip from check-in through to meeting their parent or guardian at their destination.
To fly alone, children between 5 and 11 years old must travel on an adult fare. Children travelling in a different cabin class from their parent or guardian will also be considered as unaccompanied minors and fly on adult fares.
Children over 12 can travel alone, and they fly on an adult fare. If you’d like to use our Unaccompanied Minors service for children aged 12 to 15, the fee is USD 50 for each leg of the journey.
When you drop off your young flyer at Dubai International, you can take them straight to the Unaccompanied Minors Lounge near the check-in area. We’ll check them in there, before taking them to one of our departure lounges just for young solo adventurers.
Our lounges have video games, free Wi-Fi, and comfy sofas. Kids can enjoy drinks and snacks while they wait for their flight, and there are children’s bathrooms in the lounges too.
If your child has a connecting flight in Dubai, they’ll be taken to one of our Unaccompanied Minors Lounges to wait before being handed over to our cabin crew. We’ll also accompany them to eat if they’re with us during a meal time.
