Notice: The Skywards Miles required to book reward flights on airline partner flights will be adjusted from 10 January 2024. This applies to Business Class flights only. The pricing change will not apply to the Miles you’ll earn on your flight. If you’ve already booked flights using Miles before the price adjustment but with travel after 10 January 2024, the older pricing will apply to any changes to your booking as long as you don’t change the itinerary or reward type.

The number of Skywards Miles you’ll earn depends on your class of travel, fare type and distance flown:
International flights
- Economy Class: up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown
- Premium Economy Class: up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown
- Business Class: up to 1.25 Skywards Miles per mile flown
- First Class: up to 1.5 Skywards Miles per mile flown
Domestic flights
- Economy Class: up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown
- Class J: up to 1.1 Skywards Miles per mile flown
- First Class: up to 1. 5 Skywards Miles per mile flown
Spend Skywards Miles
Spend Skywards Miles on Japan Airlines on flights across the Japan Airlines network, including JAL domestic flights.
To book a flight using Skywards Miles with Japan Airlines, click on Spend now, choose Book Classic Rewards Flight and select search partner flights only. You will then be able to check the availability of flights and use your Miles at checkout.

Earning Miles
- To claim missing Skywards Miles for flights completed within the last six months, provide your flight details using Live Chat(Opens link in the same tab).
- Miles can only be earned on Japan Airlines operated flights (JL) and are not valid on codeshare flights.
- Booking classes D, X, I, E, H, K, M, L, V, S, Q, N, O, G, Z on JL marketed Flights between Dubai and Japan are not eligible for accrual miles.
- Infant fares are not eligible to earn Miles for domestic and international travel.
Spending Miles
- Reward tickets are subject to availability.
- Reward tickets are not valid on codeshare flights operated by any other carrier other than Japan Airlines.
- One-way and return reward tickets are permitted.
- Children travelling on reward tickets will need to redeem the same number of Miles as that of an adult member. Infant rewards are not permitted.
- Reward ticket coupons cannot be used out of sequence.
- All flights must be confirmed at the time of Miles redemption. Waitlists are not permitted.
- Reward tickets are valid for one year from the original ticketed date with a maximum stay of three months.
- Miles needed as stated is for direct flights only. Where no direct service is operated two or more rewards may be required.
