You can find airport wheelchairs at our desks inside Emirates Terminal 3 in Dubai International:
If you’re checking in your own wheelchair, we can bring an airport wheelchair for you to use to the departure gate.
You can bring medical equipment and up to two mobility aids with you into the cabin, such as your own collapsible manual wheelchair, and they won’t count towards your total cabin baggage allowance.
Before you fly, we will need to check your wheelchair or mobility aids can be carried and stowed securely in the cabin and that we have enough space available. Otherwise, you can check them in.
Checking in your wheelchair or mobility aid
You can check in your wheelchair or mobility aid, depending on its size and weight. It needs to be packed properly to travel safely in the aircraft’s hold. Please bring written instructions on the disassembly and assembly of your wheelchair so we can pack it efficiently and safely. We’ll check your wheelchair and mobility aids to record any preexisting damage at check-in.
Where local authorities and regulations permit, we will do our best to return your wheelchair or mobility aid as close to the aircraft door as possible upon arrival. If that is not feasible, we’ll have a wheelchair waiting for you. You can then collect your own wheelchair or mobility aid from the baggage hall.
Wheelchair and mobility aid size limitations
To ensure your wheelchair or mobility aid fits on your flight, we have provided the dimensions of the cargo compartment doors for each type of aircraft we operate. You can find the specific aircraft type for your flight during the booking process or by checking under Manage Your Booking. Please be aware that aircraft types are subject to change.
If your trip includes travel on another airline, please contact them directly for the necessary information or to arrange assistance.

Electric wheelchairs and mobility aids
There are a few more safety regulations to consider for carrying certain batteries, so we’ll need to know the type of battery, the size of the wheelchair and the weight ahead of your flight.
We also recommend you arrive at the airport three hours ahead of your flight, so we have a little extra time to make sure your mobility aid is carried securely and within the regulations.
Canes, crutches, and walking sticks
You can take a cane, crutches, or a walking stick on board, and we’ll make sure it’s safely stowed.
Boarding the flight and using the onboard wheelchair
We have a wheelchair designed specifically for the aircraft for boarding and use during the flight.
If you’re using your own wheelchair up to boarding, you will need to transfer to the onboard wheelchair. Then we’ll put your wheelchair in the aircraft hold.
You can find out more about boarding the aircraft and accessibility on the flight on our Onboard pages.
