Emirates is the Official Airline of the San Francisco Symphony, an orchestra that has been an integral part of the city’s arts and culture landscape since 1911.

Throughout its long history, the San Francisco Symphony has presented over 230 world premieres, commissioned almost 100 new works, and received countless awards for its adventurous programming and commitment to American music.

Nearly 600,000 people hear over 220 concerts and presentations of the San Francisco Symphony each year as it seeks to set the highest possible standard for excellence in musical performance in American and around the world.

Dubai International Film Festival

The Dubai International Film Festival is an internationally acclaimed event and Emirates is proud to be a founding partner.

Emirates is a founding sponsor of the Dubai International Film Festival – an internationally acclaimed event that has evolved over the years as the leading film festival of the Middle East. Since its inception in 2004, the Dubai International Film Festival has served as an influential platform for filmmakers and talent at an international level, by spearheading the film movement in the region. The festival also celebrates excellence in film, using it as a medium to promote open dialogue between cultures.

The Dubai International Film Festival has also extended its platform to present and honour excellence in film from countries in Asia and Africa. Independent and established talents from these continents are given prominent standing at the Dubai International Film Festival’s programme.

Throughout the partnership, Emirates has shared the same objectives of Dubai International Film Festival to promote Dubai as a world-class centre for tourism, culture, commerce and sports. Emirates is the title sponsor of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature,(opens in a new window) expanding the airline’s commitment to the arts in Dubai.

Emirates is the title sponsor of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, expanding the airline’s commitment to the arts in Dubai. In 2017, the Festival will return for the ninth year, bringing more than 150 authors – from bestselling International names to emerging talent – to Dubai for 10 action-packed days of literary activity. In partnership with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is a not-for-profit event supported by sponsorship and the voluntary efforts of Dubai’s reading community. As the Middle East’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature brings people of all ages together with authors from across the world to promote education, debate and reading.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature’s strong educational remit includes Education Days consisting of author-led workshops and sessions dedicated to improving literacy among Arabic speakers by encouraging reading in children.

The Festival has won numerous awards, including Best Festival at the Middle East Event Awards from 2013-2015, Best Family Friendly Day Out Award at the Time Out Kids Awards 2016 and Favourite Festival at the What’s On Awards 2016.

BRINGING JAZZ TO THE REGION

Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival

Emirates Skywards Programme is proud to be an official partner of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival which brings top level jazz music to the region.

Emirates through its frequent flyer programme Emirates Skywards, is an official partner of the multi-award winning Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival hosted at the Dubai Media City Outdoor Amphitheatre.

As one of the Middle East's premier music festivals, the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival attracts over 30,000 visitors (record in 2009) to two stages with over 12 performances featuring more than 120 international artists. In recent years, the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival has seen performances from artists as diverse as John Legend, David Gray, ELO, Freddy Cole, Kool and the Gang and James Blunt.

Dubai Summer Surprises

Dubai Summer Surprises is a world renowned shopping and entertainment festival and Emirates is proud to be an official partner.

Dubai Summer Surprises is an annual shopping festival which was launched in 1998. The festival is one of the highlights of the city’s summer calendar with residents and tourists flocking to the region to take advantage of the in-store offers within 6,000 participating stores.

Emirates has been a key sponsor of Dubai Summer Surprises since it was first launched and has been part of its significant success which has seen revenue generated and visitor numbers increase from AED 850 million and 600,000 visitors in 1998 to AED 3.21 billion and 2.1 million visitors in 2009.

In addition to the shopping experience, the 50 luxury malls involved with Dubai Summer Surprises host entertainment shows, concerts, exhibitions, playgrounds and fun zones meaning the festival offers entertainment for the whole family.

The Emirates Air Line (opens in a new window)is London’s first urban cable car system, providing a much needed transport link across the Thames in between the boroughs of Greenwich and Newham and assisting in the ongoing regeneration of the area.

The Emirates Air Line is a key part of this mission. It is a natural expression of our ambition to bring people closer together and inspire thoughts, ideas, and conversations. The cable car will be a conduit for tourists and commuters alike, and will help them discover new areas of London among them, newly regenerated areas such as the rich cultures and vibrant local communities of London's Docklands.

Focal to the cable car site, Emirates is committed to working with communities and local authorities to help regenerate these areas, and to see that the Emirates Air Line becomes an incentive for future investment and redevelopment. It will build on the work and investment which Emirates has for many years undertaken in London.
