Emirates partners with S.L. Benfica to offer children an exclusive player escort experience

Lisbon, Portugal, 14 April 2025: Emirates, the Official Airline Partner of S.L. Benfica, stirred excitement last week as it offered a handful of children from local organisation, Acreditar, a memorable player escort experience at the S.L. Benfica versus Arouca match on 13 April.

The airline continues to leverage its sponsorship portfolio to support local communities and deliver meaningful experiences to fans. The children had an unforgettable experience walking hand-in-hand on the field with renowned players before kick-off; as well as chance to meet the players, and an exclusive behind the scenes tour of Estádio da Luz stadium.

Acreditar is a local non-profit organisation based in Lisbon that supports children and young patients battling cancer. The organisation provides patients and families with comprehensive emotional, social, and practical support.

Emirates and S.L. Benfica have been partners since 2014. The world’s largest international airline recently renewed its partnership with the Portuguese Giants until 2029 – marking the longest and most significant contract signed to date in Benfica’s history.

Beyond its partnership with Benfica, Emirates also sponsors the Millennium Estoril Open as part of its sponsorship of over 60 ATP tennis events around the world.
