Aviation’s Contribution to Dubai’s Economy
Aviation is a core pillar and major driver of Dubi’s economic growth. Led by Emirates Group, Dubai Airports and other aviation entities, the sector supported 631,000 jobs and contributed over AED 137 billion to Dubai's economy in 2023.
Dubai’s robust aviation sector has opened up more trade, investment and tourism opportunities for the emirate. Aviation's economic contribution is expected to increase to more than a third of Dubai’s GDP, and create an additional 185,000 jobs by 2030.
Aviation is vital to the prosperity of Dubai’s tourism sector, driving international visits and making the emirate one of the most frequented cities in the world. By the end of the decade, aviation-facilitated tourism is expected to contribute 10% of Dubai’s projected GDP and provide one in eight jobs in the emirate.
