Emirates and Dubai-based artist introduce ‘The Icon Collection’

7 October 2015 – Dubai, U.A.E –  Emirates’ Official Store, the home of collectible merchandise from Emirates airline, has unveiled a new apparel, home and travel collection in collaboration with Hatty Pedder, a renowned Dubai-based British artist and fashion illustrator.

‘The Icon Collection’ by Emirates Official Store and Hatty Pedder, is a unique interpretation of the globally-recognisable Emirates cabin crew and their jet-setting lifestyles. Items in the collection include stylish floaty tops and sweatshirts that appeal to all ages, handbags and luggage, and a sophisticated range of home items.

In her trademark illustrative style, Hatty Pedder used watercolours in her sketches to capture silhouette impressions and the spirit of Emirates’ most visible brand ambassadors. The key looks in her illustrations are grounded in the Emirates uniform palette with the use of bold red, creamy sand, and a base of white accented with primary colours.

David Staff, Manager of Emirates' Merchandise and Official Stores said: “At Emirates Official Store, we are putting a greater focus on the iconic elements that make up the Emirates brand. ‘The Icon Collection’ is all about our talented and cosmopolitan mix of Cabin Crew members, who embody our brand values and work hard to make our customers’ journeys memorable every day. We are delighted to work with Hatty Pedder on our new limited edition collection. She brings a fresh artistic eye to our range of products, and captures the spirit of our crew through her vibrant illustrations and unique interpretation.”

Hatty Pedder, Dubai-based British artist and fashion illustrator said: “Working with Emirates to create the Iconic collection was a fantastic opportunity to design something contemporary and fresh underpinned by a fashion element that perfectly reflects the glamour of the Emirates crew, which really inspired me.  It was very exciting to see the final product, and the practicality of the products combined with the illustrations is very striking.”

Items in the collection retail from AED 35 to AED 400, and are available at the Emirates Official Store at The Dubai Mall (Ground level, The Village) and at all other stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The collection is also available on www.emiratesofficialstore.com and can be delivered to UAE and international customers.
