Striker Danny Welbeck meets aspiring young footballers in Dubai

13 October 2015 – Dubai, U.A.E – Students of the Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai got up close and personal with Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck yesterday at The Sevens Stadium. 

The England International player met the trainees in the school, giving tips and observing the youngsters as they learned how to “Play the Arsenal Way”. Following the session, Welbeck also spent some time signing autographs and interacting with fans.  

Established in 2009, the training programme offered by the Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai is designed to help young players develop their technical skills and passion for the game, ensuring they have a platform to reach their potential. Since the school opened six years ago, students have been able to meet key Arsenal stars at least once a year, including Freddie Ljungberg and recently Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai is a joint venture between Emirates and Arsenal Football Club, teaching around 500 boys and girls yearly how to ‘Play the Arsenal Way’ through mentoring from UEFA licensed coaches. The school’s Head Coach is ex-Arsenal midfielder Ian Selley who worked under Arsenal’s manager Arsène Wenger and the school’s training ground is at The Sevens Stadium.
