Emirates and Adelaide Festival continue partnership into 2022

28 November 2019: Emirates has announced its reaffirmed commitment to the Adelaide Festival until 2022, one of the world’s major celebrations of the arts. The Festival, set to take place from February 28 to March 15 2020, will celebrate 60 years of the premier arts and culture event in South Australia, with Emirates a ‘Major Partner’ for the event.

Featuring a range of internationally acclaimed theatre productions, world-class musicians, dance pieces, renowned writers and striking visual arts displays, the Adelaide Festival has become a benchmark for cultural events across the board.

“This renewed partnership is an integral part of our commitment to the State of South Australia, having been associated with this festival since we’ve first launched our services from Adelaide in 2012. We are looking forward to continuing our support of the Australian arts and culture scene, connecting with Australians and embracing the flourishing local and international art community,” said Barry Brown, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President, Australasia

Executive Director of Adelaide Festival Rob Brookman AM welcomed Emirates commitment: “Emirates have been an outstanding and committed partner for Adelaide Festival over the last 7 years and we are delighted that they have chosen to extend that partnership to ten years in all. With their volume of services direct to Adelaide and huge number of destinations connected to the great air-transport hub of Dubai, Emirates are a brilliant fit for a festival that brings artists from a huge range of countries. And our artists love the fabulous service on board!”

In addition to the very best of Australian talent, global stars are also set to take to the stage, with Emirates particularly partnering with Adelaide Festival in 2020 to present the exceptional French ballet company, Lyon Opera Ballet.

The airline has invested more than $100 million in the Australian market through arts, community initiatives and sports industry, including Australian Open Tennis and the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras.

Offering flights to more than 150 destinations, including 5 flights a week from Adelaide to Dubai, Emirates is committed to growing its global route network, recently adding Porto, Portugal to its destinations.
