Travel to Cyprus

If you are travelling to Cyprus, you must complete the Republic of Cyprus flight pass online and get clearance before departure. You might also be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test before you travel or on arrival.

COVID-19 testing requirements

The Republic of Cyprus categorises countries as A, B or C according to their health situation. The list is updated by the Ministry of Health weekly.

All inbound passengers are required to present a 'flight pass' to fly prior to boarding.

To receive a CyprusFlightPass each passenger will need to:

  1. Create an account
  2. Enter personal information
  3. Add your flight details
  4. Make legal declarations
  5. You may be required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test
  6. Ιn the case of minors accompanied or unaccompanied passengers under the age of 18, the Information will be provided and the form will be completed and signed on behalf of the minors, by the custodian parent (s) or the adoptive parent (s) / legal guardian (s) / legal representative(s)

On successful completion of your application you will receive a report including your CyprusFlightPass and all relevant information which you will be asked to present prior to boarding and on arrival at immigration.

Ιn the case where the web electronic platform of the Republic of Cyprus is temporarily unavailable due to technical issues or scheduled maintenance with official announcement about that, in the relevant electronic platform you are required to print and complete the relevant documents found here.

Passengers who meet the requirements for a test in Cyprus

Category B

If you are travelling to the Republic of Cyprus from a Category B Country (Origin Country of Departure) or if you have stayed/lived in a Category B Country within the past 14 days before your travel to the Republic of Cyprus or you will be a passenger on an international journey to the Republic of Cyprus via intermediate Country (ies) of Category B with an overnight stay and you belong to at least one of the following Passenger Categories, you have the option to request the COVID-19 test to be carried out on your arrival in the Republic of Cyprus (Laboratory tests will be carried out on arrival, at the price of 60 euros. You are required to self-isolate until you receive the results of your test):

  • Cypriot citizens and their family members (foreign spouses and their minor children).
  • Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.
  • Persons, in countries category B, where the authorities of these countries, are not in a position to offer COVID-19 testing to those wishing to travel to the Republic of Cyprus and following an announcement by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, passengers of these Countries are permitted to perform the COVID-19 test upon their entry to the Republic of Cyprus.

Category C

If you are travelling to the Republic of Cyprus from a Category C Country or if you have stayed/lived in a Category C Country within the past 14 days before your travel to the Republic of Cyprus or you will be a passenger on an international journey to the Republic of Cyprus via intermediate Countries of Category C with an overnight stay, you are allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus and to perform the COVID-19 test upon your entry to the Republic of Cyprus, only if you belong to the below passenger categories:

  • Cypriot citizens, permanently residing in the Republic of Cyprus and their family members (foreign spouses and their minor children).
  • Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.
  • Persons, regardless of nationality, having a special permission by the Republic of Cyprus Persons, as defined under the infectious Diseases (Determination of Measures Against the Spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease) Decree (N.30), as amended.

You will be required to bear the cost of the COVID-19 laboratory test of 60 euros yourself, and pay any accommodation costs may arise, If the test results will take a day or more to be completed, as well as transportation costs.

You will be required to remain under compulsory self-isolation for 14 days, according to the instructions and the precautionary and self-protection measures of the Ministry of Health, regardless of whether the result of the COVID-19 laboratory test is positive or negative, either at your residence or in case you do not have a residence in the Republic of Cyprus, at a place that will be indicated to you by the Republic of Cyprus.

You will be required to repeat a COVID-19 molecular test, 48 hours before the termination of your self-isolation, at your own expenses. The result of your laboratory test must be sent to the following electronic address: monada@mphs.moh.gov.cy. It is understood that self-isolation will be terminated, only if the result of the repeated laboratory test is negative.

Country Categories

Countries are categorized according to their epidemiological situation into categories A, B and C, with category A having the most favorable epidemiological status.

The categorisation of Countries will be updated weekly by the Ministry of Health. An announcement concerning any future change will be published at the following link.

For Categories A and B, please see below. Any Countries not defined below are treated as category C.

Countries in Category A:

  • Australia, Cyprus, Japan, Korea, Republic of, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand

Countries in Category B:

  • China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holy See (Vatican City State), Hong Kong, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Rwanda, San Marino, Serbia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Uruguay

Countries in Category C:

  • All remaining countries

Quarantine

All passengers must remain under mandatory self-isolation at your residence or a government designated facility for 14 days, regardless of the COVID-19 PCR test result.

Required forms

Passengers must complete the Republic of Cyprus flight pass online 24 hours before travel. A red flight pass notification means you are not cleared for travel. If there are any issues submitting the online application, passengers must print and carry the required documentation for each country category. Without these documents passengers can’t board the aircraft.
