Sri Lanka’s latest luxury hotel, Cape Weligama is on the south coast of the country just a 30-minute drive from the World Heritage List town of Galle. Picking up the baton from its sister hotel Ceylon Tea Trails, it is rapidly becoming the island’s most sought after spot; think butler-attended colonial-style villas decked out in beachy colours and terraced designs of architect Lek Bunnag and you’re getting there. With 40 villas stretching over five hectares, it’s private enough to feel like a sanctuary, but not too isolated for sightseeing.
