Spend a day at Frankfurt Zoo

Frankfurt Zoo is recognised as one of the most important in Europe – not just because of its exotic inhabitants, but for the conservation work it carries out each year. Pay a visit to Goethe’s place

Goethe, one of Germany’s most revered literary sons, was born in this 18th century house, where he lived until 1775. It was here Goethe wrote The Sorrows of Young Werther and began work on Faust. The house has now been made into a museum in his honour, and you can still see Goethe's original writing desk and his library on the top floor.

The Ivory Club (Steakhouse)

With its low lighting and dark wood panelling, The Ivory Club is a throwback to the gentlemen’s clubs of yore (happily ladies are very much welcome here today). The steaks are excellent, as is the seafood.
