We’re bringing the spirit of Oktoberfest to our lounges and on board flights between Germany and Dubai with special food and drinks. Join our version of the world’s largest folk festival from 17 September to 2 October.

Start the celebration at our lounges

Join us for light bites and savoury snacks at our airport lounges in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich. Enjoy our creamy käsespätzle and potato salad. Or try the tasty obazda with pretzels. Also on the menu are chicken thighs with parsley and veal weisswurst with sweet mustard, best enjoyed with your beverage of choice.

Taste a celebratory feast in the skies

Tuck into a braised veal shank served with roasted vegetables and dumplings in First Class and Business Class. Savour a hearty meal of roasted chicken with potato wedges and braised red cabbage in Economy Class. In First Class, you’ll end your meal with a dampfnudel served with vanilla sauce and whipped cream, and have a sweet gingerbread biscuit heart to take along with you. In Business Class and Economy Class, cap your meal off with our German cream cake with almonds, honey and a redcurrant or strawberry compote.

Celebrate Oktoberfest the German way in the A380 Onboard Lounge on flights between Germany and Dubai. Bite into soft pretzels, Bavarian and Arabic pastries and a special selection of sandwiches.

What is Oktoberfest?

The longest wedding reception ever, the first Oktoberfest was held in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxony‑Hildburghausen. The royal family invited all the citizens of Munich to join in the festivities – because as they say, the more the merrier. The celebration lasted five days with contests, games, food and drinks.
