Only Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family can at this time. If you are travelling to Australia, you may be subject to mandatory quarantine. Entry into Australia via New Zealand is not permitted unless New Zealand quarantine requirements have been met. This applies to passengers from overseas arriving or transiting in New Zealand.
There are specific guidelines, requirements and fees for mandatory quarantine in each state.
All passengers who have been in a country other than Australia or New Zealand within 14 days of arrival in New South Wales must undergo mandatory quarantine. Flight crew are allowed to quarantine at their home or accommodation following the .
The quarantine period is 24 days, but may be ended after 14 days if the chief health officer is satisfied that the person does not pose a risk of infecting others with COVID‑19. The quarantine period applies to flight crew but they can continue to self‑isolate and fly out of New South Wales or undertake essential flight safety activities.
Fees for quarantine
International passengers arriving in Queensland from overseas must quarantine in government‑arranged accommodation for 14 days as declared in the Public Health Direction Self‑quarantine for Persons Arriving in Queensland from Overseas Direction. Passengers who have a flight reservation made after 17 June for arrivals after 1 July will be charged a fee for this quarantine and must cover the costs of food and accommodation. Charges are based on the number of days spent in government‑arranged accommodation and the number of people required to quarantine. In some instances travellers can apply for a quarantine exemption on the Health Directions Exemption Portal.
Passengers can apply for a full or partial waiver of the quarantine fee by submitting an application from the date the invoice is received, up to 30 days after the date the invoice was issued.

From 17 July, overseas travellers forced into mandatory hotel quarantine in Perth will be billed AUD 2,520 or AUD 5,040 for a family of four.
Travellers will be charged the same flat rate regardless of the hotel they are assigned to, with the WA Government currently using Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Mercure, Novotel, Westin and Hyatt Regency.
Any passenger arriving on or after 17 July will be required to pay for their own quarantine, regardless of when they booked their flight.
Full or partial payment exemptions will be available for Australian citizens or permanent residents experiencing genuine hardship but applicants will be expected to provide evidence that they are unable to meet their existing financial obligations.
No international passengers are allowed into Melbourne effective 1 July 2020 until at least 31 December 2020.
Effective 23 July 2020, it is mandatory to wear face masks at every point of your journey and failure to comply will result in a fine of AUD 200.
