Travel to Seychelles

All passengers, including infants and children, travelling from permitted countries must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate from an accredited laboratory. The test must be taken not more than 72 hours before departure from the point of origin. Travellers from countries not included in the list of permitted countries are currently not allowed entry to Seychelles.

Seychelles nationals travelling from a high risk country must seek approval from the Public Health Authority for entry into Seychelles.

Effective September 15, travellers to the Seychelles, including travellers in transit to other countries via Mahe Airport, must have an approved Health Travel Authorisation (HTA).This includes children, infants as well as Seychellois and all foreigners. Passengers must apply via the Seychelles Travel Authorisation mobile app or their website.

Passengers require their passport, a recent valid negative COVID-19 PCR test, their travel itinerary, hotel bookings, other relevant information as well as a payment card to complete the application.

The HTA can be presented in a form of hard or soft copy. Permitted hard copies are a paper print-out or PDF and soft copies are Mobile app/ Apple Passbook versions.

Please visit should you have difficulties in retrieving the HTA and you will be able to retrieve the application by entering your passport number & nationality.

The HTA will be processed at a charge of EUR 45 and is only valid together with the corresponding passport and COVID-19 PCR test certificate that were submitted and accepted. The fee for Seychelles passport holders is EUR 5.40.

Passengers can submit an urgent application. An additional amount of EUR 90 will be charged for urgent applications. Urgent applications are aimed to be processed within 30 minutes.

All countries allowed to enter Seychelles will be considered permitted countries and have been divided into 2 categories:

  • Category 1 includes permitted countries from low and medium risk
  • Category 2 consists of countries given special status

Effective 1 October 2020, Special Status is provided to the following countries: France, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Additional health safety measures that will permit visitors from the countries with Special Status to travel and stay in Seychelles are described below:

  • A PCR test for COVID-19 must be done not more than 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin.
  • After arrival into Seychelles, the visitor must stay in a designated establishment and may not leave the premises for 5 days.
  • A repeat PCR test will be performed on the 5th day. If the test result is negative, the visitor will be free to continue with his planned holiday. If the test result is positive, the visitor will be required to stay in a designated stay-safe hotel until cleared by the Public Health Authority.

It is important to note that these procedures are subject to change, and visitors are invited to check for the latest requirements on the Ministry of Tourism and Department of Health websites.
