All passengers travelling to Ethiopia must present a printed copy of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate for a test conducted not more than 5 days before arrival. The certificate must clearly mention that an RT PCR test was conducted, the time and date when the sample was taken and have an official stamp of the authorities issuing the certificate. Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT antibody test) results will not be accepted. Children under 12 years are exempted as long as they are travelling with their parents and their parents have a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate.
All passengers, except those connecting through Ethiopia, will be required to undergo self-quarantine at home for 14 days.
While it is advised, diplomatic passport holders, including United Nations and African Union personnel and their immediate families, may travel from Dubai to Ethiopia without a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test certificate. Arriving diplomats must undergo a 14-day quarantine at their respective embassies.
