Travel to Tunisia

If you are travelling to Tunisia, you are required to take a COVID‑19 PCR test before departure.

Travel eligibility

Effective Monday, 16 November 2020, the Civil Aviation Authority of Tunisia has discontinued the previous country classifications of Green, Orange and Red and the following customers can board flights to Tunisia provided they meet the conditions listed below.

All nationalities who are eligible for travel to Tunisia will now be accepted for travel. This includes nationalities who are eligible for visa on arrival. All passengers will be accepted based on meeting the entry requirements.

Short Visits to Tunisia for less than 5 days – Passengers can be accepted based on the requirements if they carry a valid hotel voucher for the duration of their stay. For example, a 3-day visit requires a 3-day hotel voucher or a residence address, if available.

Short Visits to other countries and returning (to Tunisia) in less than 5 days – Passengers who are returning to Tunisia after being away for less than 5 days are only required to self-quarantine at home for less than 7 days.

All visitors (non-Tunisian) are required to hold a return ticket.

Sponsors of passengers who are eligible for visa on arrival services must apply for pre-approval from Immigration HQ in Tunisia.

Transit Passengers

All nationalities may be accepted for transit in Tunisia.

Transit passengers may be accepted provided they meet entry requirements.

Transit passengers may be accepted provided they have a residence address or hotel voucher.

Transit itineraries must not exceed 24 hours in Tunisia.

COVID-19 testing requirements

All passengers travelling to Tunisia regardless of the point of origin must possess a COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a negative result. The certificate is valid from the time of result and must not exceed 72 hours on arrival in Tunisia.

Any COVID-19 PCR test exceeding 72 hours will be considered invalid for travel.

Only a printed copy of the certificate is accepted – soft copies are not permitted.

Exemptions

Passengers who have a Letter of Exception from a Tunisian embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia can be accepted on flights to Tunisia.

Children below 12 years old are exempt from any COVID-19 PCR requirement.

Required forms

Passengers who CAN provide a valid residence address in Tunisia must provide the information on the Engagement Confinement Form.

Passengers who CANNOT provide a valid residence address MUST provide a valid hotel voucher for 14 days in Tunisia from any hotel of their choice. Hotel pre-bookings will not be accepted. Only fully paid hotel vouchers will be accepted for travel. Passengers who do not present the hotel voucher at check-in will not be accepted on the flight.

Required apps

Passengers must download the E7MI APP (available on Android and iOS) and complete the form. Passengers must present the confirmation QR code at check-in. Passengers who are unable to download the app must complete the provided standard Health Cards before the temperature control check on arrival.

Quarantine

Passengers must commit to self-quarantine (residence or hotel) for 14 days and sign the Engagement Confinement Form provided by Emirates. Passengers may take a COVID-19 PCR test seven days after arrival and have the quarantine lifted if they have a negative result.

Other information

Passengers must follow all sanitary measures and use of PPE in Tunisia.

Travel from Tunisia

If you are travelling from Tunisia, you may be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test before departure and present additional documentation at check-in. Please check the requirements of your specific destination before travel.

Passengers must check-in 4 hours before departure as check‑in closes 90 minutes before departure.
