Travel to Lebanon

If you are travelling to Lebanon, you must take a COVID-19 PCR test and complete the online medical form before departure.

COVID-19 testing requirements

Effective 23 September 2020, all passengers travelling to Lebanon, except children under 12 years old, must take a COVID‑19 PCR test in a laboratory certified by the country’s local authority no later than 96 hours between the release of the negative test result and their date of arrival in Lebanon. The negative COVID‑19 PCR test result must be presented at check‑in to be accepted on the flight.

On arrival, passengers may choose between the following:

  • Take another COVID‑19 PCR test no later than 72 hours at their own expense,
  • Stay in home or hotel quarantine for a period of 10 days from the date of their arrival in Lebanon.

Passengers arriving from Syria, Turkey and all African countries must take another COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival. The cost of the PCR test and other medical diagnostic measures is USD 50 (except for children under 12 years age, UNIFIL and members of diplomatic delegations acting in Lebanon). The test shall be conducted in laboratories authorised by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health at the airport.

Passengers arriving from Iraq must perform a COVID‑19 PCR test in a lab certified by Iraqi health authorities not more than 96 hours between the time the test result was released and the date of arrival in Lebanon. The COVID‑19 PCR test must be performed at the listed accredited lab for each city in Iraq:

  • Baghdad: Istishari Medical Laboratory‑ Yarmouk
  • Private Nursing House Lab‑ Baghdad
  • Basra and Al Najaf: All accredited laboratories in any Iraqi province provided that the COVID‑19 PCR test report is stamped by the Provincial Health Department
  • Erbil: All accredited laboratories in the province provided that the COVID‑19 PCR test report is stamped by the Provincial Health Department

All passengers from Iraq must take another COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival. The cost of the COVID‑19 PCR test and other medical diagnostic measures is USD 50 (except for children under 12 years old, UNIFIL personnel and members of diplomatic delegations acting in Lebanon). The test will be conducted in laboratories authorised by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health at the airport.

Required forms

All passengers arriving in Lebanon must complete this online medical form issued by Lebanese Ministry of Public Health before boarding their flight to Lebanon.

Quarantine

Arriving passengers Syria, Turkey and all African countries who took a COVID‑19 PCR test in those countries must home quarantine for a period of 48 hours from the date of their arrival in Lebanon until they receive the negative result of the PCR test conducted at BRHIA.

All passengers arriving from Iraq will be home or hotel quarantined for 48 hours from the time of arrival in Lebanon or until the release of the results of their COVID‑19 PCR test at BEY Airport. All foreign nationals arriving in Lebanon from Iraq must submit personal and health information along with their telephone number in case the COVID‑19 PCR test is positive. Passengers must bear all expenses if hospitalisation is required.

Prepaid hotel booking is not required.

Exemptions

Passengers travelling from Lebanon and returning within a week (those travelling on one day of the week and and returning on the same day the following week) are exempt from taking the COVID-19 PCR test before they return to Lebanon. However:

  • Passengers arriving from Iraq, Syria, Turkey and all African countries must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival at BRHIA.
  • Passengers arriving from other countries must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival or no later than 72 hours from the date of their arrival, at their own expense.
