If you are travelling to Iraq, you are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test and submit applicable documents before departure. Please also note that it is mandatory to wear facial masks throughout Baghdad (BGW) and Basra (BSR) airports.
COVID-19 PCR testing
All passengers travelling to Iraq must carry a negative COVID‑19 PCR test result certificate. A certificate from any government approved lab will be acceptable. The test result must be issued not more than 72 hours before arrival.
Passengers traveling to Basra must have a printed medical certificate with a negative coronavirus COVID-19 PCR test or RT-PCR test result. The test must have been taken at most 72 hours before arrival and the certificate must be in Arabic or English.
Passengers traveling to Baghdad must have a medical certificate with a negative coronavirus COVID-19 PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before departure.
All non‑Iraqi nationals who require OK to board approval must submit copies of their passport, PNR and visa 48 hours before their date of travel. The required documents must be submitted to:
For travel to Basra, children 12 years and below are exempt from the COVID-19 PCR test requirement.
For travel to Baghdad, children below 6 years can be accepted without the COVID-19 PCR certificate on the condition that the test is conducted after arrival.
If you are travelling from Iraq, you will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test before travel. Also note that it is mandatory to wear facial masks throughout Baghdad (BGW) and Basra (BSR) airports.
All staff and passengers will be subject to thermal scanning and any passenger who shows symptoms of flu will not be allowed to check‑in. They will then be taken to a medical centre for further testing.
