Our Views

Emirates continues to play an active role in international aviation policy debates that have a key impact on the aviation industry.

We are confident that our position on competition, liberalization, and government financial intervention in aviation is strongly in the interest of consumers.

At the heart of our business model is a commitment to true international competition and open skies. We believe that an open global economy is vital to free and fair trade, economic growth, and fuller employment.

Emirates History

On October 25, 1985, Emirates flew its first routes out of Dubai with just two aircraft—a leased Boeing 737 and an Airbus 300 B4. Then as now, our goal was quality, not quantity, and in the years since taking those first small steps onto the regional travel scene, Emirates has evolved into a globally influential travel and tourism conglomerate known the world over for its commitment to the highest standards of quality in every aspect of its business.
