Membership tiers

Flight rewards. Seat upgrades. Airport lounge access and more. Emirates Skywards has four membership tiers, each with increasing benefits and advantages.

Once you join Emirates Skywards, you can enjoy benefits that increase in value as you move up the tiers. You can easily achieve the next tier by:

  • earning the required number Tier Miles by flying with Emirates or flydubai; or
  • completing the required number of Emirates or flydubai flights
  • paying for your everyday purchases with an Emirates Skywards cobranded card*

Once you achieve the next tier, you enjoy your membership privileges for 12 months.

Emirates Skywards Blue

The first tier of membership, Blue tier privileges offer you a warm welcome to our award-winning programme.

What you can expect:

As a Blue member you can enjoy travel benefits from instant upgrades using Skywards Miles at check‑in or on board, waitlist priority and access to free Wi‑Fi throughout your flight as an Emirates Skywards member travelling in First or Business Class or free unlimited messaging when travelling in Premium Economy or Economy Class.

Emirates Skywards Silver

A new range of advantages and services await you in the Silver tier. Earn 25,000 Tier Miles or take 25 flights to become a Silver tier member.

What you can expect:

As a Silver member you have access to all Blue tier membership benefits, 30% bonus Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights, complimentary Emirates Business Class lounge access for you in Dubai and so much more.

Emirates Skywards Gold

Look forward to a higher level of benefits and more premium services with a Gold membership. Earn 50,000 Tier Miles or take 50 flights to become a Gold tier member.

What you can expect:

As a Gold member you have access to all Blue and Silver tier membership benefits as well as 75% bonus Skywards Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights, and complimentary Economy Class seat selection for you and passengers in your booking.

Emirates Skywards Platinum

Our highest tier rewards our most frequent flyers with advantages carefully designed to make every journey unforgettable. Earn 150,000 Tier Miles or more and take at least one qualifying flight* in First Class or Business Class to become a Platinum tier member. *Effective 1 April 2023

As a Platinum member you get to enjoy all the benefits of a Blue, Silver and Gold membership as well as complimentary Home check-in in Dubai, First Class check in at the airport and baggage delivery, complimentary lounge access for you and your guests in all Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Dubai and worldwide, 100% bonus Skywards Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights and Gold tier membership for a spouse, partner or friend. As an Emirates Skywards member you can earn Skywards Miles and Tier Miles on your flydubai flights. You also enjoy a wide range of benefits, including up to 100% bonus Miles, up to 20kg extra baggage allowance and priority baggage delivery depending on your membership tier status.

Learn more about Membership Tiers

  • Tier Miles are calculated at the same rate as Skywards Miles; taking into account the fare you have paid, the route and the class of travel. Please note that you can’t earn Tier Miles through our partners, only on Emirates flights, flydubai flights and codeshare flights marketed by Emirates but operated by another airline.

  • There are two ways to retain your tier:

    1. Earn enough Tier Miles by flying with Emirates, flydubai or on a codeshare flight marketed by Emirates but operated by another airline.
    2. Take the required number of qualifying flights* with Emirates and flydubai. Take the required number of qualifying flights with Emirates and flydubai. A ‘qualifying flight’ is a flight on Emirates, flydubai or a codeshare flight marketed by Emirates but operated by another airline, between the point of origin and point of destination of an outward or return journey.

    Once you have reached a new tier you have a fixed 12-month period in which to earn the Tier Miles you need to keep your status. During this time, you would need to save 25,000 Tier Miles or take 25 qualifying flights to remain in Silver, 50,000 Tier Miles or 50 qualifying flights to remain in Gold and 150,000 Tier Miles and at least one qualifying flight* in First Class or Business Class to remain in Platinum.


    *Effective 1 April 2023

  • You won’t earn additional Tier Miles for being a Silver, Gold or Platinum member. However, you can earn extra Tier Miles by travelling Business Class or First Class or choosing a Flex or Flex Plus fare.

  • To move up to the next tier you need to earn sufficient Tier Miles or take enough qualifying flights during the tier qualification period.

    • To reach Silver membership, you need to collect 25,000 Tier Miles (or take 25 qualifying flights).
    • To reach Gold membership, you need to collect 50,000 Tier Miles (or take 50 qualifying flights).
    • To reach Platinum membership, you need to collect 150,000 Tier Miles and at least one qualifying flight* in First Class or Business Class.

    Please check My Account for information about your tier status and key review dates. You don’t need to apply to move up a tier, as we will automatically move you to the next tier when you earn enough Tier Miles.

  • Silver, Gold and Platinum members are eligible for two personalised luggage tags per tier cycle. Skywards Skysurfers members are also eligible.

    Silver, Gold and Platinum members can get their luggage tags printed at the Business Class lounges at Dubai Airport. Platinum members will continue to receive their packs along with their personalised luggage tags.
