The insurance policy under which coverage is provided is underwritten by insurance company subsidiaries, affiliates, or network partners of American International Group, Inc. This policy does not include pre-trip benefits such as trip cancellation and travel inconvenience benefits such as trip delay and baggage loss/damage. Please refer to country-specific policy wordings for benefit limits that could be converted to local currency. You can arrange additional coverage separately by exploring what travel insurance policies are available to you in your specific market.
Please note that for Mexico and Argentina, payments and services are provided under a service agreement, not an insurance policy.
COVID-19 medical travel insurance* automatically applies to your ticket when you purchase flights between 1 December 2021 and 31 March 2022** and take the first flight of your trip during the same period. The ticket must have 176 as the first-three digits of the ticket number.
There are no forms to complete, simply purchase your flights either on emirates.com, through our contact centres, our retail offices, or with your travel agent^. If you need to use your coverage you must call one of our 24 hour support numbers in your preferred language. Coverage applies to travel to any overseas country, even if you travel onwards to another city.
In order to claim against your COVID-19 medical travel insurance, you or someone acting on your behalf must contact the assistance company (contact details provided below) as soon as reasonably possible to notify our insurer of a claim. Our insurer will only settle a claim directly with the provider.
Your coverage is valid for the duration of your return trip (or up to 31 days after your departure date from your original country of departure, whichever is earlier).
If you’re flying on a one way trip, the coverage ends 31 days after you arrive at your final overseas destination.

Important note for residents of Brazil: Coverage will not apply without a Bilhete (certificate of insurance). In order to issue a Bilhete, you will need to provide the insurer additional information. Please refer to the Assistance e-mail () provided in the applicable policy to request a Bilhete. Please note that Emirates will provide the insurer with your name, ticket details and the email address associated with your booking. Please ensure that, at the time of booking, you have provided Emirates or your travel agent with the most up-to-date email address to receive your Bilhete. Attention: Travel insurance is not health insurance. Read the contractual conditions carefully, observing your rights and obligations, as well as the limit of the insured capital contracted for each coverage.
