From 31 July to 8 November 2026, passengers possessing an Accreditation Card (ACR card) or a support letter who are traveling to Japan for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 and the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games are exempt from visa requirements within the specified period:
• Asian Games: from 31 July 2026 to 19 October 2026;
• Asian Para Games: from 18 September 2026 to 8 November 2026.
For persons who, due to unavoidable circumstances, were unable to receive their ACR Card before travel, possession of a Support Letter certifies that they are eligible to receive an ACR Card. Holders of this letter will receive appropriate assistance from the Organising Committee, including the issuance of an ACR Card, upon arrival at an airport in Japan, and will subsequently undergo the prescribed immigration procedures.
- These do not apply to holders of an ACR Card displaying \"AINAGOC\" on a sky-blue background to the right of the photograph.
Primary, middle, and high school students and their teachers who reside in China (People's Rep.) do not need a visa for a maximum of 30 days if:
- travel as part of a school group; and
- the school group is accompanied by a teacher.
Application documents (Letter from the Principal, Roster and Itinerary) must be submitted to the Embassy of Japan in China (People’s Rep.) at least two weeks before arrival by the school, travel agency organizing the school trip or an accredited agency and presented upon arrival.
Nationals of India who reside in Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Hong Kong (SAR China), India, Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Macao (SAR China), Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates or Viet Nam can obtain an e-visa before departure at https://www.evisa.mofa.go.jp/personal/login for a maximum of 90 days if they travel as tourists. They must present a \"Visa issuance notice\" on a mobile device.
