- a Form I-94 issued by the USA with an unexpired temporary I-551 stamp (ADIT stamp) and a passport photo.
Passengers with a Certificate of Indian Status card issued by Indigenous Services Canada do not need a visa.

- a member of a crew as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, or a person entering Canada only to become one;
- a properly accredited diplomat, consular officer, representative or official of a country other than Canada, of the United Nations or any of its agencies, or of an intergovernmental organization of which Canada is a member, and their immediate family members;
- a person who is attending a meeting in Canada that is hosted by an international organisation, as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Foreign Missions and International Organizations Act, and who benefits from privileges and immunities under that Act or the Privileges and Immunities Act;
- a member of the Canadian Forces who enters Canada to perform their duties;
- a member of a visiting force entering Canada to perform their duties;
- a person entering Canada to provide medical care, to transport or collect essential medical equipment, supplies or means of treatment, or to deliver, install, maintain or repair medically necessary equipment or devices;
- a person, or a person in a class of persons, whose entry, in the opinion of the Minister of Health, does not pose a risk of significant harm to public health or is in the national interest and they comply with all conditions imposed on them by a quarantine officer.
If a quarantine officer determines a person to be ‘asymptomatic but at high risk of becoming symptomatic’, only crew members from the list above are no longer exempt from the quarantine requirement.

Minors who travel with adults that have no legal custody over them, are strongly advised to have a consent letter signed by a legal guardian or parent with legal custody, containing:
- authorization to travel with another person, and to be outside the country;
- the destination in Canada, also indicating length of stay;
- the signor's address and telephone details.
Parent(s) traveling with a child under 18 years are strongly advised to have documentation containing evidence that the child is theirs.
Parents who are separated or divorced are advised to keep legal and other relevant documents available, in order to clarify custody rights.
Visitors traveling for business are recommended to have documents such as a letter of invitation from the Canadian host business, a supporting letter from the employer, copy of bills or contracts supporting the visit, and contact details of the host business in Canada to facilitate entry procedures.
