Starting from 7,000 Skywards Miles

Members can now redeem Skywards Miles to purchase a full flight ticket on Emirates Premium Economy cabin, starting from 15,000 Miles (one-way).

Passengers can also request for an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy starting from 7,020 Miles (one-way). Upgrade requests can be booked prior to a flight and will also be offered at the Emirates’ check-in counter, subject to availability.

Emirates’ US$5 billion retrofit programme

As part of its multi-billion dollar investment to fully refurbish 219 of its aircraft – Emirates has so far rolled out 67 fully refurbished aircraft (32 A380s and 35 Boeing 777s) with new cabin interiors including the Premium Economy cabin. The airline also welcomed 9 A350 aircraft featuring Premium Economy, with 56 more units to join its fleet.

By March 2026, the airline will serve 68 cities with aircraft fitted with its Premium Economy product, offering close to 2 million Premium Economy seats in its network each year, and a doubling of that capacity to 4 million seats per year by the end of 2026. 

• On the Emirates Airbus A380, 56 Premium Economy seats are located at the front of the main deck, and seats are laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration.
• On the Emirates Boeing 777, up to 24 Premium Economy seats are laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration.
• On the Emirates Airbus A350, up to 28 Premium Economy seats are located at the front of the aircraft, and seats are laid out in a 2-3-2 configuration.

The two carriers launched a codeshare agreement in 2022 and have since expanded their partnership to offer loyalty programme members more destinations, more Miles, and more rewards.

Emirates Skywards and TudoAzul frequent flyer members can now earn and redeem Miles across a joint network of 280 destinations worldwide. Dubai, UAE, 14 November 2023: Emirates and Condor today announced the activation of their reciprocal interline agreement which will boost connectivity for customers to 70 routes operated by both airlines across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East, with a single ticket fare and hassle-free baggage policy. The two carriers also signed a frequent flyer programme agreement enabling Emirates Skywards members to earn and redeem Miles on all Condor-operated flights.

The agreements were signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates Chief Commercial Officer and Jens Boyd, Condor Commercial Director at the Dubai Airshow. Starting from today, Emirates’ passengers will enjoy seamless access to new and exciting European and Caribbean destinations operated by Condor including 24 regional points via Frankfurt, 12 regional points via Dusseldorf, 9 regional points via Hamburg and 12 regional points via Munich. Some of the most popular cities available for Emirates’ customers include Malaga, Ibiza, Cancun and Havana, among others, all with a single ticket and convenient baggage check-through to the final destination.

Dubai, UAE – 9 November 2023: Emirates has completed 15 years of operations to Los Angeles, one of the busiest routes in its US network. Since the airline began services to Los Angeles International Airport in 2008, Emirates has carried over 3.5 million passengers on 12,000 flights between Dubai and the point and uplifted a staggering 252,000 tonnes of cargo, supporting travel as well as trade, through the export and import of commodities.

When Emirates’ inaugural services began the destination became the second US city to be served by the airline.

Emirates currently serves the popular route with seven weekly flights operated with the double-decker A380 aircraft, capable of carrying up to 475 passengers and 15 tonnes of cargo in the bellyhold. Dubai, UAE, 19 May 2023: A recent enhancement to Emirates’ inflight connectivity means that all Emirates passengers in every class of travel can enjoy some form of free connectivity once they sign up to Emirates Skywards. The development has resulted in an additional 30,000 Economy Class passengers connecting to complimentary onboard Wi-Fi every week.

Emirates has constantly been at the forefront of inflight Wi-Fi developments and has to date invested more than US$ 300 million dollars into onboard connectivity.

All Emirates Skywards members in every class of travel can now enjoy some form of free connectivity. Skywards members, whether Blue, Silver, Gold, or Platinum tier, travelling in any class, whether Economy, Premium Economy, Business or First Class will enjoy free app messaging. Additionally, First Class passengers will have unlimited free internet if they are Skywards members, enabling them to shop or work online while inflight, as will Silver, Gold and Platinum Skywards members travelling in Business Class. Platinum Skywards members have complimentary internet access in all classes.

The increase in free connectivity has been very well received by Emirates’ passengers following changes in January 2023 and the airline today sees an average of 450,000 users per month. This represents a 30% increase of passenger use in 2023 versus the same period last year. Currently almost 10% of all passengers are utilising the complimentary onboard Wi-Fi. On routes through the Americas, almost 20% of passengers connect to Wi-Fi onboard, and on European and Africa routes the usage is over 11% of all passengers.

Patrick Brannelly, SVP Retail, IFE & Connectivity commented: “Emirates has persistently worked with our service providers to optimise and improve the connectivity experience. In March we delivered about 55% more data per customer session compared to early 2022 despite the number of sessions increasing by 68% in the same period. We will continue to work to invest in upgrades and enhancements, and our A350 aircraft will arrive with the next generation of satellite connectivity already equipped.”

Emirates also announced that it will offer new high-speed, inflight broadband powered by Inmarsat’s GX Aviation, onboard 50 new Airbus A350 aircraft - scheduled to enter service in 2024. The new agreement will significantly improve the passenger experience with enhanced connectivity and greater global coverage, even on flights over the Arctic. The Airbus A350s will be the first Emirates aircraft to take advantage of Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellite network, which powers the world’s first and only globally available broadband network, ensuring passengers can enjoy uninterrupted global connectivity, no matter their destination, including the North Pole. The advanced high-speed capabilities of the broadband will enable Emirates passengers to stay connected with family and friends, browse the internet, and enjoy social media, all from the comfort of their seat. Emirates also confirmed an investment of over US$ 350 million to equip a 50-strong fleet of A350s coming in 2024 with enhanced passenger connectivity via Thales’ AVANT Up system and Optiq - the first smart display in the industry to offer two Bluetooth connections, built-in Wi-Fi for passengers to pair multiple devices including phones, tablets, headphones or even game controllers, while supporting up to 60 watts USB-C to fast-charge personal devices.

The offer is valid for eligible tickets booked between 26 November and 03 December 2018 (both days inclusive) for travel on Emirates or flydubai flights between 26 November 2018 and 31 March 2019. The alignment of the loyalty programme for both airlines builds on Emirates and flydubai’s close partnership which includes code-sharing on an extended global route network and several initiatives including commercial, network planning, and airport operations.

Dubai, UAE, 3 May 2018 – Emirates Skywards has made it even easier to redeem reward flights and earn travel and lifestyle rewards by giving members more flexibility in managing their Skywards Miles. Members of Emirates’ award-winning loyalty programme can now buy, gift or transfer Miles to their loved ones at a more attractive rate.

The cost of buying or gifting Miles has been adjusted to USD 30 per 1,000 Miles, while transferring Miles costs USD 15 per 1,000 Miles giving members the opportunity to earn rewards faster.  Transaction limits have also been increased enabling members to buy or gift up to 100,000 Skywards Miles per year and transfer up to 50,000 Miles a year.

In addition, the programme now enables members to reinstate expired Miles. Members who have miles that have expired in the last six months can reinstate them at a nominal charge of USD 20 per 1,000 Miles.
