Dubai, UAE, 27 August 2026 – Emirates will deploy its new A350 aircraft on flights EK344/345 between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur from 1 September. This will expand the airline’s Premium Economy offering in the Malaysian capital to 52 seats daily, with the A350 joining the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777 operating on EK346/347.

A new generation of flying

Emirates’ A350 offers customers 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats*, combining contemporary interiors with enhanced comfort and technology.

Business Class customers will enjoy lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, together with wireless charging. Across the premium cabins, electronic window blinds feature the Emirates Ghaf tree motif when closed, while customers can access digital inflight menus on ice screens.

The latest generation of Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system features 4K and 4K HDR displays on ultra-responsive touchscreens, delivering an enhanced cinematic experience onboard. Customers can also enjoy high-performance Wi-Fi powered by ViaSat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellite network, with improved Wireless Access Points designed to provide greater connectivity across the aircraft.

Connecting Malaysia to the world

With the A350 operating between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai, travellers will benefit from a consistent product experience to/ from destinations served by the Emirates A350 via Dubai across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and the Americas.

Customers departing Kuala Lumpur on EK345 or arriving on EK344 can expect a consistent experience with Emirates' best-in-class products on flights to more than 20 points across the airline's global network. This includes cities such as Istanbul, Lyon, Frankfurt, and others.

The deployment of the additional A350 on flight EK648/649 will double the number of daily flights with Premium Economy cabins on the route, reinforcing Emirates’ commitment to delivering enhanced comfort, choice and connectivity for travellers to and from Sri Lanka. Emirates currently operates four daily flights to Colombo with a mix of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

Emirates’ flight EK648 departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 16:10hrs daily and arrives at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) at 22:10hrs. The return flight EK649 departs CMB at 02:55hrs and reaches DXB at 05:50hrs. All times are local. The second A350 service complements the daily schedule and, along with EK654/655, provides customers choice in flight timings to suit their itinerary and more opportunities to fly in Premium Economy.

The Airbus A350, the newest aircraft type to join Emirates’ all-widebody fleet, introduces the airline’s latest in-flight experience. Designed with bright and airy cabins, the aircraft offers more space and comfort across all classes, complemented by cutting-edge technology and enhanced entertainment options, in multiple languages including Tamil and Sinhala, that elevate every journey.

Central to the A350 experience is Emirates’ award-winning Premium Economy cabin, which has quickly become one of the airline’s most in-demand offerings. Configured in a spacious 2-3-2 layout, the cabin features cream leather seats with elegant woodgrain finishes that echo the sophistication of Business Class. The introduction of a second daily A350 service builds on the successful debut of the aircraft on the Colombo route in March 2025, when Emirates launched its Premium Economy experience in Sri Lanka. The enhanced deployment underscores the airline’s continued investment in the market.

Emirates offers three non-stop daily flights on the Colombo-Dubai route with a range of timings in addition to one daily service via Male’. In addition to EK648/649 and EK654/655, both operated with an A350 aircraft featuring Premium Economy, Emirates also offers services on a B777 scheduled as EK650/651 and EK652/653.

Marking 40 years of operations to Colombo this year, Emirates connects Colombo to almost 140 destinations across its global network, supporting tourism and trade while offering customers its signature “Fly Better” experience.

The additional flight frequency to Phuket complements the airline's existing schedule and provides much-needed capacity to meet the deep tourism appeal and surge in summer travel demand from Europe and the Middle East/GCC. Customers can look forward to Emirates' award-winning Premium Economy experience, complete with extra legroom and curated amenities, elevated dining, and more.

With the addition of a third daily flight, Emirates now serves Phuket with 21 weekly services operated by a mix of Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s. Emirates flight EK390 departs Dubai at 22:40hrs, arriving in Phuket at 08:10hrs the following day. The return flight, EK391, departs Phuket at 10:00hrs and arrives in Dubai at 13:05hrs.*

Commitment to Thailand

The expansion of Emirates' operations in Phuket builds on the airline’s continued investment in Thailand, following recent developments including the opening of its renovated lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport's SAT-1 terminal, the opening of its Emirates World Store at Gaysorn Centre in Bangkok, and newly introduced fifth freedom services last year connecting Bangkok with Siem Reap in Cambodia and Da Nang in Vietnam., underscoring its place as a connecting point in Southeast Asia.

Cape Town, South Africa, 2 July 2026: Emirates' third daily service on the Dubai-Cape Town route landed at Cape Town International Airport at 18:05 yesterday, marking the first arrival of flight EK778. This also marks the debut of the airline's next-generation Airbus A350 in South Africa.

The A350 is the newest aircraft type to join Emirates’ all widebody fleet, introducing the latest in-flight experience. The bright and airy cabins have been thoughtfully designed to provide more space and comfort in every cabin, whilst cutting-edge technology and enhanced entertainment options elevate every flight. The deployment also increases access to the airline’s award-winning Premium Economy cabin, which first launched in South Africa in September 2025 and has proved consistently popular with travellers.

The new flight enhances connectivity for South African travellers, offering more choice, flexibility, and improved access to Emirates’ global network, via Dubai, especially long-haul destinations in West Asia, Australasia and the Far East.

The launch of the new service also builds on the agreement signed in April 2026 between Emirates and Wesgro, the tourism, trade, and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape. The two organisations are working together to bring more visitors from key markets such as the Gulf, the Far East, and India.

Outside of Cape Town, Emirates also reinstated its fourth daily flight to Johannesburg on 1 July 2026, boosting weekly connectivity to Dubai to 56 weekly services from its three South African gateways. The deployment is further supported by the seasonal deployment of the second A380 service into Johannesburg. EK761 and EK762 will now be operated by a fully retrofitted A380, equipped with the in-demand Premium Economy cabin and the latest cabin interiors, enhancing Emirates world-class offering and boosting capacity in and out of South Africa’s largest and busiest international airport.

Taipei, Taiwan, 1 July 2026 – Emirates has introduced its new-generation Airbus 350 on the Taipei–Dubai route, bringing its highly acclaimed Premium Economy experience to Taiwan for the first time. Together with the airline's flagship A380 currently serving the route daily, passengers travelling from Taiwan can now enjoy Emirates' complete best-in-class products and world-class service – providing greater choice and flexibility for journeys via Dubai to more than 150 destinations across airline’s global network, including 42 cities in Europe such as Zurich, Barcelona, Lisbon, Budapest, and Stockholm.

From 1 July, Emirates’ A350-operated EK386/EK387 will operate daily between Taipei and Dubai. Flight EK386 departs Dubai at 08:45hrs and arrives at Taoyuan International Airport at 21:20hrs, while the return flight, EK387, departs Taipei at 00:30hrs and arrives in Dubai at 05:15hrs the following day.

London, UK, 9 February 2026: Emirates fourth daily flight to London Gatwick has launched, making it the airline’s first London gateway to be served by the all-new Airbus A350, and introducing the award-winning Premium Economy cabin to Gatwick. This additional daily service joins the existing three daily A380 flights on the Dubai-Gatwick route.

The additional frequency marks a significant milestone in Emirates’ UK operations as the airline now operates a record 146 weekly flights to the UK, including 90 to London, offering customers more schedule choices and greater flexibility than ever.

Emirates flight EK069 departs Dubai at 17:05hrs, arriving in London Gatwick at 20:50hrs; the return flight, EK070, departs London Gatwick at 23:55hrs and lands in Dubai at 11:00hrs. The introduction of an evening departure brings a new and complementary flight option on the Dubai-Gatwick schedule, to optimise both corporate and leisure travel between the two cities.

The service will operate with Emirates’ newest aircraft type, the A350, bringing its latest products and highly acclaimed Premium Economy cabin to Finland, from the inaugural flight.  

Emirates flight EK167 will depart Dubai at 08:45hrs^*, arriving in Helsinki at 14:55hrs^*; the return flight, EK168 will depart Helsinki at 16:45^*, landing in Dubai at 00:20^* the following day. All five Australian cities served by Emirates now offer its latest generation aircraft, products and Premium Economy cabin: the four-class A380 across four cities, the four-class Boeing 777 from Melbourne, and the A350 from Adelaide. Delivering on its promise to provide Australians with the best possible travel experience, 56 out of 70 of Emirates’ weekly services between Australia and Dubai are now operated by Emirates’ next-generation aircraft, offering passengers across all Australia access to the airline’s latest cutting-edge products, including over 5,000 weekly Premium Economy seats between Australia and Dubai.

Operating on EK440/441 services, the Airbus A350-900ULR has replaced the Boeing 777-200LR. Emirates’ flight EK440 departs from Dubai at 02:00hrs, arriving in Adelaide at 20:50hrs. The return flight EK441 departs Adelaide at 22:50hrs and arrives in Dubai at 05:20hrs the next day. All times are local.

The A350 aircraft arrived in Adelaide last night to a traditional water cannon salute and was welcomed by South Australian Minister for Tourism, Zoe Bettison, Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia, Emirates and Brenton Cox, Managing Director at Adelaide Airport.

Introducing the Emirates A350 to Adelaide and Australia

In November 2024, Emirates took the delivery of its first A350 which first entered commercial service in January 2025 between Dubai and Edinburgh. Since, Emirates has expanded its short haul and medium haul A350 destinations. With the delivery of the first long-range A350 to Emirates, Adelaide will become the first city in Emirates network to receive the long-range A350. The Emirates Airbus A350-900ULR can stay in the air for up to 15 hours non-stop, with a range exceeding 14,000 km. The A350 is the most fuel-efficient large widebody aircraft in commercial service today and also offers the quietest twin-aisle cabin of any aircraft.

The Emirates A350 features three spacious cabin classes, accommodating 298 passengers in 32 next-generation Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 28 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 configuration and 238 generously pitched Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.

The introduction of the Premium Economy cabin and latest onboard products to Adelaide reflects Emirates’ commitment to delivering a premium passenger experience along with elevated comfort across every cabin class. Business Class on the Emirates A350 features luxurious leather lie flat seats, called the ‘S Lounge seats’, inspired by the Mercedes S Class, plus a mini bar for inflight snacks. Economy Class has seats in an uplifting and elegant light blue, with luxurious bronze-coloured armrests creating a sophisticated look, and a brand new 6-way adjustable headrest on seats.

A350 passengers can also look forward to cutting-edge tech touches like wireless charging in Business Class, new aerBlade electric window blinds with the Emirates Ghaf tree motif when closed in premium classes, new touchscreen call bell buttons on ice inflight entertainment screens, five aircraft camera views and improved inflight live map experience, 60-watt USB C charging in every seat, and the ability to pair personal Bluetooth headphones.

The airline’s next-generation version of the ice inflight entertainment system on the A350 delivers a cinematic experience with stunning 4K and 4K HDR displays on ultra-responsive touchscreens. Passengers will enjoy seamless navigation and innovative features such as the ability to skip credits and intros, and an ‘eye comfort mode’ to reduce blue light exposure, among many other enhancements.

The A350 also offers high-performance Wi-Fi, offering uninterrupted global connectivity using ViaSat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellite network, with improved Wireless Access Points (WAPs) onboard allowing more customers to enjoy up to ten times the current total aircraft bandwidth on average.

Adelaide welcomes Emirates new Premium Economy experience

In Premium Economy, customers can experience quiet luxury with cream-coloured leather and a wood panel finishing similar to Business Class. Each 19.5-inch seat is designed to provide optimal comfort and support, with 6-way adjustable headrests, a footrest and a generous 40-inch recline. Each seat has a 13.3-inch screen, in addition to in-seat charging points, Bluetooth connectivity for personal headsets, plus a wood-finished side cocktail table. 

The Premium Economy dining experience includes a welcome drink served in fine glassware, and a selection of meals made with seasonal ingredients, served on Royal Doulton china tableware with Robert Welch stainless-steel cutlery. Premium Economy customers are also offered an extended beverage list that includes vintage wines from Emirates’ Business Class list, including a sparkling Chardon and Chandon Vintage Brut 2017.

Passengers in Premium Economy are provided with complimentary amenity kits made with sustainable and recycled materials and soft, alongside sustainably made blankets and a generously sized pillow, both designed uniquely for Premium Economy.

Premium Economy passengers also benefit from priority boarding, allowing for a smoother and more relaxed start to their journey, a dedicated check-in area at Dubai International Airport and a generous baggage allowance of up to 35kg.

Strengthening Trade Routes Between Adelaide and UAE

Each daily flight will offer 16 tonnes of cargo space, totaling 224 tonnes weekly between Dubai and Adelaide, supporting local exports of wine, seafood (fish, mussels), chilled meat, fruits and vegetables, flowers, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and fashion garments. The value of freight exports is estimated to be $98 million per year, bringing the total estimated expenditure generated by Emirates’ flights to Adelaide to $160 million including tourism expenditure.

Located in the centre of the world, Emirates SkyCargo can cater to two-thirds of the world’s population in just eight hours, with Dubai providing a strategic location for the transportation of goods including pharmaceuticals, food and other perishables, e-commerce goods as well as machinery and other equipment. 

With the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) paving the way for increased trade between the UAE and Australia, Emirates is ideally positioned to contribute to this growth, through its high-capacity, multi-vertical, world-class cargo operations that are ready to facilitate and accelerate the flow of goods between the two nations. Connectivity and Commitment to Australia

The introduction of the next-generation A350 to Adelaide further strengthens Emirates’ extensive Australian network, which currently operates 70 weekly return services to and from its five major gateways - Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

In October, Emirates welcomed the delivery of its retrofitted four-class A380 to Perth. The new aircraft debuted Emirates Premium Economy to the west coast, giving West Australians access to Emirates latest generation products and services.

Emirates’ extensive network and well-positioned hub in Dubai make it an ideal stopover point for passengers travelling between Australia and onwards to over 40 European destinations, offering seamless connectivity, minimal transit times and world-class airport facilities.

Emirates has been deeply committed to Australia for nearly three decades and its investment in the country goes well beyond the flights it operates. In 2025, Emirates also launched its Force for Good program in Australia in partnership with the Australian Tennis Foundation. The initiative will introduce tennis to disadvantaged youth over five years and in the five cities the airline flies to. Dubai, UAE, 19 November 2025 – Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, today announced orders for 8 additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines, at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Worth US$ 3.4 billion at list prices, this top-up order will boost the airline’s A350-900 fleet to a total of 73 units when all deliveries are completed. To date, Emirates has received delivery of 13 A350 aircraft.

Emirates’ additional A350-900s ordered today are expected to be delivered during 2031.

Emirates aircraft fleet and orderbook – 19 November 2025

Hangzhou, China, November 5, 2025 – Emirates has recently deployed its new Airbus A350 aircraft on flights between Dubai and Hangzhou. With this significant move, Hangzhou becomes the first Chinese mainland city to feature Emirates’ latest aircraft type, further underscoring the airline’s unwavering commitment to the Chinese market.

Since launching in July 2025, Emirates’ daily Dubai-Hangzhou service has received steady demand from customers, as it provides the Chinese city with capacity and global connectivity via Dubai. By deploying its latest generation aircraft to Hangzhou, Emirates aims to further enhance the onboard experience for travellers while ensuring product consistency.

Operated by Emirates’ Airbus A350, flight EK310 departs daily from Dubai International Airport at 04:15hrs and arrives in Hangzhou at 16:00hrs. The return flight, EK311, departs from Hangzhou at 00:10hrs and lands in Dubai at 06:10hrs. All times are local.

The introduction of the A350 service to Oslo marks a new chapter in the airline’s investment to the Norwegian market. Introducing Premium Economy

Flight EK069/070 will be operated by the airline’s newest aircraft, the Airbus A350, offering customers the opportunity to experience its latest generation interiors, including Business Class and Premium Economy.

The fourth flight to London Gatwick brings the airline's total London services to 12 flights across three airports, offering customers more departure time choices and greater flexibility.

Emirates flight EK069 will depart Dubai at 17:05hrs, arriving in London Gatwick at 20:50hrs. The return flight, EK070, departs London Gatwick at 23:55hrs and lands in Dubai at 11:00hrs. *

The new service’s unique timing as the last flight of the day between Dubai and London in both directions caters to customers traveling directly between the two cities. For those traveling to Dubai, the service provides the ideal arrival time for customers to check-in to their hotels and get a head start on their Dubai activities. Customers departing Dubai on the flight can make the most of their time in the city—finishing business meetings, enjoying extended shopping, or completing last-minute activities—before taking the evening flight to London.

Connecting London to the world

Gatwick is set to become the second UK destination to receive Emirates’ new A350 aircraft after Edinburgh. The new fourth daily flight will also expand Emirates’ UK operations to 140 weekly flights to eight key gateways: London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh - operated with a mix of A350s, A380s and Boeing 777s.

London will join a growing list of global cities served by Emirates’ newest aircraft, including Lyon, Bologna, Dammam, Mumbai, Edinburgh, Bahrain, Colombo, Kuwait, Muscat, Tunis, Amman, Istanbul and Ahmedabad.

The introduction of the Airbus A350 to Muscat highlights Emirates’ ongoing commitment to Oman. Muscat is among the first few cities in the region to receive Emirates’ next-generation A350, joining a growing network that includes destinations like Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam and Amman as well as other points like Edinburgh, Mumbai, Tunis, Colombo and Ahmedabad. The airline has so far welcomed seven A350s to its fleet and is expected to serve 17 destinations across its global network by the end of this year.

To meet the current summer travel demand, Emirates has also layered on two additional weekly flights between Dubai and Muscat, operating flights on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight EK 862 departs Dubai at 7:55 am and reaches Muscat at 9:05 am, while the return flight EK 863 takes off from Muscat at 11:25 am and lands in Dubai at 12:30 pm.

The third daily flight, EK835 departed Dubai at 0200 hrs and landed in Bahrain at 0215hrs. The return flight, EK836 took off from Bahrain at 0340 hrs and reached Dubai at 0605 hrs. The deployment of the Emirates A350 to Bahrain reflects the airline’s strong and growing ties with the Kingdom and underscores the airline’s investment in delivering premium service and product to the market.

The A350 currently serves several destinations across the airline’s short and medium haul network, including Amman, Kuwait, Edinburgh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, and Tunis. By the end of 2025, Emirates plans to serve 17 cities worldwide with its new A350 fleet.

Originally scheduled to operate on 1 June, the deployment of the brand-new aircraft has been advanced by 2 weeks. EK 905 departed Dubai at 2210 hrs on 19 May and landed in Amman at 0015 hrs early morning on 20th May. EK 906, took off from Amman at 0205 hrs and reached Dubai at 0605 hrs this morning. *

Dubai, UAE, 19 March 2025: Emirates has revealed the next seven cities to be served by its A350, as more newly delivered aircraft featuring the airline’s latest cabin innovations enter scheduled service. With the latest tranche of planned Emirates A350 deployments, the airline is expanding the list of its short to medium haul destinations served in the Middle East/GCC and Europe. For the first time, the Emirates A350 will make its debut in Africa and Southeast Asia.

He added: “The introduction of this aircraft and layering it on existing route schedules also enables Emirates to maintain a compelling competitive position as the airline of choice for discerning travellers looking for a unique slate of connectivity options and elevated onboard experiences they can't have with any other carrier.”

The airline's latest A350 fleet additions will start scheduled operations to the following destinations:

• Emirates will operate the A350 six times weekly (all days except for Tuesday) to Tunis on EK 747/748 from 1 June.*
• Amman’s EK 905/906 will be served daily by the Emirates A350 from 1 June.*
• Emirates’ A350 featuring the latest cabins will land in Istanbul for the first time to commence daily operations on EK 117/118 from 1 July.*
• The Emirates A350’s first debut to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its Dammam services will start on 1 July on flights EK 827/828.*
• The Emirates A350’s first foray into Southeast Asia will begin 1 August on the daily EK364/365 to Ho Chi Minh City.*
• Emirates will operate its A350 to Baghdad three times weekly (Monday, Wednesday and Sunday) on EK 941/942 from 3 August.*
• The Emirates A350 will debut in Oslo for the first time from 1 September on its daily EK 159/160.*

Emirates will announce more A350 destinations, including long-haul routes, in the coming months as new aircraft join its fleet.

In addition to the newly added cities, Emirates will layer on more A350 services to Bahrain and Kuwait. Bahrain will become a nearly all-A350 operation with the addition of the third daily EK 835/836 flight from 1 June. Kuwait will be served by a second A350 flight on the daily EK 857/858 from 1 October. In addition, Bologna will receive its first A350 on 1 June, one month ahead of its latest announced deployment date.

A closer look at the A350

Emirates’ A350 showcases the latest in cabin innovation and has been designed to maximise customer comfort. Standout features include a newly-designed, more comfortable Economy Class cabin; upgraded Business Class and Premium Economy cabins; the best image quality on any aircraft with 4K and 4K HDR ultra-responsive touchscreens; extra-high ceilings with wider aisles in all classes; and faster Wi-Fi with uninterrupted global connectivity across all A350 destinations.

The most fuel-efficient large widebody aircraft in commercial service today, the A350 also offers the quietest twin-aisle cabin of any aircraft. Connecting Scotland to the world

The Emirates A350’s arrival in Edinburgh follows the airline’s resumption of services to Scotland’s capital in November 2024. The airline operates 14 weekly flights to Scotland, including an A380 service to Glasgow – offering customers enhanced connectivity to more than 140 destinations across its extensive global network.

Emirates’ A350 flight EK23 departs Dubai at 14:50hrs local time, and arrives in Edinburgh at 19:05hrs, local time. The return flight EK24 departs Edinburgh at 20:40hrs and arrives in Dubai at 08:05hrs, local time the following day. 

Business Class customers onboard the inaugural A350 flight from Edinburgh to Dubai enjoyed the special delicacies of Scotland with the airline’s specially curated menu featuring dishes like rich broccoli and Lanark Blue cheese soup made with Lanark Blue cheese produced in Ogcastle, Lanarkshire; a Scottish smoked salmon dome, paired with caviar, dill, cranberries, and a citrus dressing; tender seared Angus beef fillet from Aberdeen; Balmoral chicken served with traditional tatties and neeps; and a delicious cranachan cheesecake topped with raspberry coulis.

Economy Class passengers also enjoyed a refreshing potato champ salad with Scottish smoked salmon, cheddar cheese with Nairn's oat biscuits and Walker’s shortbread biscuits.

Emirates will operate its Airbus A350 on the following services to Kuwait and Bahrain:

• Kuwait: The Emirates A350 will operate on EK853 and EK854. EK 853 departs Dubai at 0125hrs, arriving in Kuwait at 0215hrs. The return flight, EK 854 leaves Kuwait at 0340hrs, arriving in Dubai at 0625hrs.

Emirates has been serving Kuwait since 1989, and today operates 29 weekly flights. The event, led by Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline in the presence of His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy,  was attended by VIP guests, aerospace partners, government officials and dignitaries, members of the media, as well as aviation enthusiasts. Guests were able to experience the aircraft’s interiors, equipped with its next generation products and latest technologies. 

The Emirates A350 features three spacious cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers in 32 next-generation Business Class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy seats and 259 generously pitched Economy Class seats. The latest onboard products reflect the airline’s commitment to delivering a premium passenger experience while optimising operational efficiency. The Emirates A350 is the first new aircraft type to join Emirates’ fleet since 2008.

The A350’s introduction will enable Emirates to expand into new destinations globally, including mid-sized airports unsuited for larger aircraft. The Emirates A350 will be delivered in two versions - one for regional routes and one for ultra long-haul routes.

The airline plans to make its first scheduled commercial A350 flight to Edinburgh on 3 January 2025. In the months to follow, customers can look forward to experiencing the Emirates A350 in existing GCC points like Bahrain, Muscat and Kuwait, Lyon and Bologna in Europe, and Colombo, Mumbai and Ahmedabad in West Asia in addition to new travel opportunities that are up to 15 hours from Dubai– to be announced in 2025.

Economy Class customers will notice two distinct improvements to their seats on the Emirates A350. Firstly, similar to the newest Emirates 777 and A380 aircraft, the Emirates A350 Economy Class seat has a new fabric in an uplifting and elegant light blue, with luxurious bronze-coloured armrests creating a very sophisticated look. Secondly, Emirates will soon introduce a brand new 6-way adjustable headrest to Economy Class on the A350, designed with customer comfort at the forefront and allowing customers the option of sleep with full neck support. With extra high ceilings and wider aisles in all classes, the Emirates A350 is sleek yet spacious inside. In the Emirates A350 Business Class cabin, the configuration is one seat by the left window, 2 seats in the middle, and one seat by the right window (1-2-1). In Premium Economy, the configuration is 2 seats by the left window, 3 seats in the middle, and 2 seats by the right window (2-3-2). In Economy Class, the configuration is 3 seats by the left window, 3 seats in the middle and 3 seats by the right window (3-3-3). With this configuration, all customers have easier access to the aisle. The A350 galley area is notably spacious, offering Economy Class customers an area to stretch their legs and grab a complimentary snack on long haul flights. Storage has been improved on the Emirates A350, with compartmentalised pockets and larger overhead storage bins.

Seamless technology at every touch

The Emirates A350 takes technology to another level. Customers can now adjust their electric window blinds at the touch of a button. The aerBlade dual blind system will feature in Business and Premium Economy Class offering two shaded options, and the aerBlade single blind systems will make a debut in Economy Class, with all blinds showing the Emirates Ghaf tree motif when closed. Customers will also enjoy new touchscreen call bell buttons for cabin crew service, on the ice inflight entertainment screens. The Emirates A350 will introduce an impressive, next-generation version of the ice inflight entertainment system with a suite of ground-breaking features designed to enhance the customer experience. Offering a cinematic display to Emirates customers, this includes the best picture quality on any aircraft with stunning 4K and 4K HDR, ultra-responsive touchscreens for seamless navigation and a vast media selection—up to triple the current content capacity. Customers will also enjoy handy new features like ‘eye comfort mode’ to reduce blue light exposure, the ability to skip credits and intros on videos, enhanced live TV, and simplified volume and brightness controls. An improved search function is complemented by iceMoments, a revolutionary way to explore content on ice in a short form video format.  Kids will enjoy a new pictorially driven interface, while parents will appreciate the seat side parental controls for family-friendly settings.

Faster wi-fi

Marking a first in aviation history, the Emirates A350 will feature a high performance, new generation antennae which will significantly improve inflight connectivity taking full advantage of ViaSat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellite network. Customers will enjoy uninterrupted global connectivity across all destinations, including over the North Pole for flights going to the Americas. At an investment of more than USD 2 million per aircraft, customers will notice an improved user portal with a faster sign in for new users and a swifter log in for Skywards customers. Improved Wireless Access Points (WAPs) onboard will mean more customers can connect at the same time with the potential to enjoy up to 10 times the current total aircraft bandwidth on average, whether for work or to stay connected with family and friends.

Seamless online shopping

From 2025 onwards, customers on the Emirates A350 will be able to enjoy Duty Free shopping from their seat in a few taps. EmiratesRED will offer an extensive catalogue of luxury gifts on ice, where customers can shop online, create a basket and conveniently transition to their personal device to complete the checkout and payment process, including payment via ApplePay and G-Pay.

More inclusive, accessible travel

A new user interface on ice has been designed in partnership with Thales and advocacy groups for visually impaired customers, to ensure all customers have an intuitive, high quality inflight entertainment experience. This imparts best practice experiences for visually impaired customers including audio-cue navigation assistance, voice metadata feedback, touch and swipe gesturing support and presents the large selection of audio-descriptive (AD) content available on ice.

Quieter cabins

The Emirates A350 is celebrated as the most fuel-efficient large widebody aircraft, and also offers customers a substantial reduction in noise. Emirates customers can take advantage of the peaceful ambience and elevated comfort in the quietest twin aisle cabin of any aircraft.

More complimentary snacks

Business Class customers will have their own minibar on the Emirates A350, which includes still and sparkling water, and 2 snack packs - one sweet and one savoury, as well as a new snack display area at the back of the cabin, where customers can come and grab fresh fruit, sandwiches and sweet treats anytime they like. Premium Economy customers will have a snack service on long haul flights and Economy Class customers will also be able to access complimentary snacks on long haul flights on a newly designed island in the galley area.

A sleek interior designed for relaxation

The Emirates A350 will feature the latest sophisticated and luxurious design by Emirates, including key motifs like the illuminated Ghaf Tree – the symbolic tree of the UAE, and the signature bronze and gold of the Emirates brand, combined with crisp cream leather and elegant wood grain for a soothing and sleek neutral palette. The aircraft features customised mood lighting designed for a relaxing ambiance. The washrooms are a luxurious and pristine white with bronze accents, offering a spacious feel as they are the same size as the current washrooms on the larger Emirates A380 aircraft.

World class hospitality from Emirates’ Cabin Crew

Emirates’ world class cabin crew have received specialised training to ensure the airline’s signature customer experiences are delivered consistently onboard the Emirates A350. The training blends classroom learning with practical sessions, on a dedicated simulator in the Emirates Cabin Crew Training College, Dubai. Cabin crew learn the intricacies of the new inflight entertainment system, as well as the service procedures unique to the A350.

The Emirates A350 will be rolled out to 8 other destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat and Bologna, with more destinations to follow.

Emirates flight EK 23 will depart Dubai at 14:50hrs and arrive in Edinburgh at 19:05hrs, local time. The return flight, EK24, will depart Edinburgh at 20:40hrs and arrive in Dubai at 08:05hrs, the following day.

The airline also currently serves Glasgow with a daily A380 – offering customers 14 weekly flights to/from Scotland.  Including Edinburgh, Emirates serves eight destinations in the UK.

The aircraft was officially handed over this morning to Emirates and will soon embark on its ferry flight from Toulouse (TLS) to Dubai today at 1600hrs local time.

Aviation enthusiasts and Airbus A350 fans can track the flight’s journey in real time on Flight Radar 24. Once the Emirates A350 lands in Dubai, the aircraft will receive its finishing touches at Emirates Engineering before being officially unveiled at a special event later this week. 

The delivery flight for the newest member of the Emirates fleet was powered by a blend of jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The aircraft will officially enter commercial service in January when it makes its debut flight to its first destination, Edinburgh, followed by 8 other destinations across the Middle East, West Asia and Europe.

The suites include three full flight simulators integrated with innovative pilot support systems (PSS), a fixed base training device, a cabin emergency evacuation trainer and a door trainer. This investment reflects the airline’s commitment to achieve the ultimate standards and excellence in crew training. 

The PSS is an industry first and was fully conceptualised inhouse by Emirates with a view to optimising the training experience. During the briefing phase, it allows trainees to carry out an interactive flight deck set-up, including building a flight plan, in a fully immersive environment. The set-up is recalled once the trainees move inside the simulator to resume their training. The PSS’ debrief mode allows the instructor to playback the recorded session to review crew performance. 

The airline’s first A350 full flight simulator received a level D qualification, the highest for this type of simulators, from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The initial qualification was achieved with zero findings, another remarkable feat in the simulation industry. The advanced technology not only enhances training efficiency, but also empowers pilots to confidently master the skills required for smooth operations.

Emirates has ordered 3 full flight simulators for its A350 fleet. The second A350 simulator is currently in its onsite acceptance stage and is scheduled to receive EASA approval in November.

The A350 fixed base training device replicates the flight deck, using visual and audio systems to make training sessions as realistic as possible.

Shaping the future of aviation

Currently, the airline has trained nearly 30 pilots and 820 cabin crew members. By end-November, more than 50 pilots will have completed their training on the A350 full-flight simulators prior to the aircraft’s entry into service. Emirates’ pilots and cabin crew receive robust, evidence-based training, delivered inhouse by highly experienced instructors in specially designed environments.

What’s more, in June this year, Emirates announced a joint collaboration with IATA and Airbus to deliver an enhanced Competency-Based Training and Assessment programme for the A350 type rating.

Future fleet

For its next era of growth, Emirates has 65 A350s and a mix of 205 777Xs in its order book that will support the airline’s expansion goals and provide flexibility to launch new, and better serve, existing routes on its network.

Ultra-modern pilot training facility

Emirates is all set to open its advanced pilot training facility later this year. The 63,318 sq.ft. facility can house 6 full-flight simulator bays for the A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft. Across the airline’s pilot training facilities, Emirates' aviators will be able to hone their flying skills with 17 full flight simulators offering a capacity of more than 130,000 training hours a year.

The advanced pilot training programme uses the CBTA training methodology that combines IATA’s principles and documentation with Emirates’ operational expertise and resources, and Airbus’ CBTA training experience on the A350 that spans over 10 years.

Driven by pilot competency and behaviour, the A350 CBTA programme utilises the proven CBTA training philosophy that  allows instructors to assess the pilots training and seek immediate improvements in their performance. The programme will run in two phases and will include 20 days of simulator training and evaluation in 15 separate sessions.

The tailored CBTA programme for the A350 supports the integration of the new aircraft to be inducted into our fleet, with 1,000 pilots set to complete the A350 type rating course. This latest initiative is part of Emirates’ commitment to deliver the highest standards of service and comfort while supporting our operational growth and expansion," said Capt. The A350 type rating programme is one of the ways Emirates is prepping the entry of its new A350 into service. Along with pilot training, other parts of the airline are also working on preparing for the debut of A350 operations including Service Delivery and Engineering teams, among other departments.

CBTA and IATA

Gaining the benefits and efficiencies of CBTA training is a longstanding industry objective. For flight crew, IATA is supporting this with its CBTA Guide for Flight Crew Training, which is fully aligned with ICAO CBTA standards and includes specific libraries for Airlines/Operators and Training Organizations.

IATA also focuses on CBTA training in support of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. The IATA CBTA Center supports organizations across the aviation industry, including operators, Civil Aviation Authorities, and training organizations, in developing the capabilities and resources for dangerous goods training programs. It also offers CBTA training specialized for various airline functions from ground handlers, to passenger agents, load planning, crew and others.

Dubai, UAE: 10 May 2024 – Emirates has announced it will resume flight operations to Edinburgh starting from 4 November 2024. The highly anticipated return to the Scottish capital will complement the airline’s current A380 daily flight to Glasgow and offer customers 14 weekly flights to/from the country.

The Dubai to Edinburgh route will be served utilising the Emirates A350-900 aircraft in a three-class configuration, with 32 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Economy and 259 seats in Economy Class.

Back to the Highlands

Emirates first launched operations to Edinburgh in 2018 utilising a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline will now resume its operations to the city utilising its new A350 aircraft with spacious cabins, high ceilings, and customised mood lighting.

Customers travelling from Edinburgh can also access the airline’s extensive network of more than 130 destinations via Dubai, including popular destinations such as Maldives, Bangkok, Sydney, and Bali. 

Emirates’ daily flight to Edinburgh will also boost cargo capacity and enable Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s cargo arm, to uplift 16 tonnes of cargo per flight - supporting local businesses, improving trade links with global markets, and increasing popular exports such as salmon, shellfish, and whisky.

Emirates’ A350 takes to the skies

Emirates recently announced its new A350 aircraft, scheduled to enter service in September 2024, will serve 9 destinations across the Middle East, GCC, West Asia, and Europe. DUBAI, UAE, 6 May 2024: Emirates has today announced the first set of destinations to be served by its A350 aircraft entering service in September 2024. With 10 new A350s expected to join the Emirates fleet by 31 March 2025, the airline plans to deploy its latest aircraft type to 9 destinations in the coming months, offering customers its latest signature cabin experiences.

These first 10 Emirates A350 aircraft will offer three cabin classes, with 32 next generation Business Class seats, 21 seats in Premium Economy, and 259 generously pitched Economy Class seats. All of these aircraft are earmarked to serve short to medium haul cities on the Emirates network, with Bahrain as its inaugural destination.

As the first Emirates A350s begin entering the fleet, the airline will offer customers more opportunities to experience its highly acclaimed Premium Economy product and sample its next generation Business Class cabins for the first time, particularly on short and medium haul routes in the Middle East and GCC, West Asia and Europe.

Newly delivered aircraft sporting the airline’s latest cabins will roll into scheduled service to the following cities:

In the Middle East/GCC

• Emirates will operate its first A350 to Bahrain on the daily EK839/840 service from 15 September. Frequency of A350 services will progressively increase to cover two Bahrain services with the second service starting on 1 November.
• The first Emirates A350 will land in Kuwait on the daily EK853/854 service on 16 September.
• Muscat’s daily EK866/867 will be served by the A350 from 1 December.

In West Asia

• The Emirates A350 will be deployed on EK502/503 to Mumbai from 27 October.
• Ahmedabad’s daily EK538/539 will be served by the A350 from 27 October.
• Colombo’s fourth daily service EK654/655 will be served by the A350 from 01 January 2025.

In Europe

• Lyon will be served daily with the Emirates A350 from 1 December.
• Bologna will be served by the A350 from 1 December.
• Edinburgh will rejoin the Emirates network from 4 November, operated by the A350. More details to follow soon.

Emirates will announce more destinations in the coming months as new aircraft join its fleet.

Dubai, UAE, 16 November 2023 – Emirates today announced an order for 15 additional Airbus A350-900s at the Dubai Airshow 2023, worth US$ 6 billion.

This takes Emirates’ total A350 order book to a total of 65 units.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group said: “The A350-900s will add to our fleet mix and we are pleased to announce additional orders for this aircraft type. We plan to deploy our A350s to serve a range of new markets including long-haul missions of up to 15 hours flying time from Dubai. We will work closely with Airbus and Rolls-Royce to ensure our aircraft deliver the best possible operating efficiency and flying experience for our customers.”

The first A350 is scheduled to join Emirates’ fleet in August 2024, and with today’s additional orders, Emirates will receive A350 deliveries until early 2028.

Including its order for 95 additional Boeing aircraft on Monday, Emirates will have a total order book of 310 wide-body aircraft.
