Upgrade offer terms and conditions

  • Additional taxes may apply at certain airports.
  • When processing a reward upgrade online, all passengers on the booking must be upgraded and Miles will be deducted from one individual account. 
  • Only one cabin upgrade, to the next highest class, is permissible. For example: Economy Class to Business Class or Business Class to First Class.  
  • For cash upgrades, all adult passengers in the booking must purchase the upgrade. Purchasing an upgrade for an individual within a booking is not permitted. 
  • The upgrade is applicable to the specific flight offered and not the entire journey/itinerary.  
  • Chauffeur-drive service is not applicable to flights upgraded from Economy Class to Business Class with this offer.  
  • Where upgrades from Business Class to First Class are purchased, individuals will be eligible for the Chauffeur-drive service offered for the original Business Class ticket purchased. 
  • Airport lounge access is not available prior to departure of the flight upgraded using this offer. No lounge access is available to any subsequent Economy Class flights. Emirates Skywards members will retain access to lounges based on their tier eligibility.
  • Priority check-in, baggage priority and baggage allowance will remain in the class of travel originally booked.
  • Changes, cancellation and refunds for cash upgrade are not permitted. The terms and conditions associated with the original booking remain the same. 
  • For upgrades using Miles, there are no cancellation fees applicable for un-utilised upgrades. Miles used for the upgrade will be refunded unless they have expired. 
  • The upgrade offer is subject to availability at the time of purchase and ticketing. Seat availability is not reserved or guaranteed until the upgrade has been purchased and ticketed.  Emirates reserves the right to amend, limit or revoke the upgrade offer at any time prior to purchase and ticketing. 
  • The upgrade offer must be purchased and ticketed at least 6 hours prior to departure. The offer will become void 6 hours prior to departure. 
  • The upgrade is not transferrable and is only available on a specific flight number, sector and date to the passenger to whom it has been offered. 
  • The upgrade can only be purchased through emirates.com by an instant payment method (credit or debit card). Emirates accepts no responsibility for any online technical issues resulting in the failure to book and pay for an upgrade within the time limit. 
  • Skywards Miles will be earned at the rate of the original class on the ticket, not the higher upgraded class. 
  • A further upgrade to First Class using cash, Skywards Miles or a combination of the two is not permitted on sectors upgraded from Economy Class to Business Class under this special offer. 
  • Every effort will be made to ensure original special meal requests remain, however Emirates accepts no responsibility if a special meal request is not met. Customers are advised to check any special requests for their booking via ‘Manage a booking’ on emirates.com.
