A professional tournament on the Asian and European Tours, the EUR 1.5 million Avantha Masters was recently introduced after the Indian Masters was discontinued. Held in New Delhi, India, the tournament is played at the DLF Golf and Country Club on a course designed by Arnold Palmer. The inaugural tournament took place from 11th to 14th February 2010.
Maybank Malaysian Open

Part of the PGA European Tour’s "Race to Dubai" series and also co-sanctioned by both the Asian Tour and the European Tour, the Maybank Malaysian Open is held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) located eight kilometres from the city centre in Bukit Kiara. Soon celebrating its 50th anniversary, the tournament is played on the club’s West Course, a Par 72 international championship course designed by golf architects Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright.
Ballantine’s Championship
Pinx Golf Club, Jeju Island, South Korea

The Ballantine’s Championship is part of the European Tour, and is held at the Pinx Golf Club in South Korea. The tournament – the first European Tour event staged in Korea – takes place on picturesque Jeju Island and boasts a prize fund of over EUR 2 million. The course was designed by Theodore G. Robinson and provides views of both the sea and of Halla Mountain.
BMW International Open

Played since 1989, the BMW International Open is held in Munich, Germany, and is an important tournament on the European Tour. Held at the Golfclub München Eichenried with a prize purse of around EUR 2 million, the tournament is one of three tour events held in Germany. It is played on a course featuring numerous water hazards designed by Kurt Rossknecht, and the event attracts around 60,000 spectators and media representatives every year.
Alstom Open de France

Launched in 1906, the prestigious Open de France is the oldest national open in continental Europe and has been a major tournament on the European Tour since 1972. This rich and historic tournament boasts a prize fund of around EUR 4 million and is held at Le Golf National located just outside the French capital.
Austrian Golf Open

Held for eight consecutive years at the Golfclub Fontana, the Austrian Golf Open is a key men’s tournament on the European Tour with a prize purse of EUR 1.5 million. The club is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Vienna in Oberwaltersdorf, Lower Austria.
Thailand Open

In 2010, the Thailand Open, previously a tournament sanctioned by the Asian Tour, will become a OneAsia Tour event, which is a joint venture between the PGA Tour of Australasia, the China Golf Association, the Japan Golf Tour, the Korean Golf Association and the Korean PGA. The event is held at the Thai Country Club and offers a prize fund of USD 1 million.
The Ryder Cup

Every two years, teams from the United States and Europe compete for the coveted trophy named after Samuel Ryder in an event co-administered by the European Tour and the PGA of America. The Ryder Cup alternates its location each year between the US and Europe, and has been running since 1927 when it was originally a tournament between golfers from the United States and the United Kingdom. However, the British side expanded to include greater Europe starting in 1979. The 2010 event will be held from 1st to 3rd October at the Celtic Manor Resort in the Welsh city of Newport.
WGC-HSBC Champions

The WGC-HSBC Champions tournament has been played since 2005. It is a men’s professional event played over a 72-hole Nelson and Haworth-designed course at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China. "WGC" denotes a World Golf Championship, which is the status the tournament secured in 2009, making it the fourth event on the calendar of the International Federation of PGA Tours.
Barclays Singapore Open

Typically held in mid-to-late autumn, the tournament offers a prize fund of USD 2.5 million and is played over 72 holes. After 36 holes are played, the field is cut to the leading 70 players.

The fourth richest and one of the fastest-growing events on the Ladies’ European Tour, the annual Omega Dubai Ladies’ Masters presents a prize fund of EUR 500,000 and is played at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. The tournament is played on the club’s Al Majlis championship course and attracts leading professional female golfers from around the globe.
Australian PGA Championship

A men’s golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australia, the Australian PGA Championship is held on the fairways of the Hyatt Regency in Coolum, Queensland. The prize fund for the tournament is AUD 1.5 million, and the winner is awarded the Joe Kirkwood Cup, named after the famous golfer and Sydney native.
Omega Dubai Desert Classic

An all-star event on the PGA European Tour since 1989, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic sees a leading international field of professional golfers tee off in pursuit of glory on the Al Majlis course of the Emirates Golf Club.
