The insurance policy under which cover is provided is underwritten by insurance company subsidiaries, affiliates, or network partners of American International Group, Inc.
The multi-risk travel insurance* automatically applies to your ticket when you purchase flights on or after 1 December 2020**.
There are no forms to complete – simply buy your flights either on emirates.com, through our contact centres, our retail offices, or with your travel agent. If you need to use your cover you can call one of our 24-hour support numbers in your preferred language. We cover you in any country, even if you travel onwards to another city.
Your cover is valid for the duration of your return trip (or up to 365 days after your departure date from your original country of departure, whichever is earlier).
If you’re flying on a one-way trip, the cover ends 48 hours after you arrive at your final destination. Cover for emergency medical expenses and overseas quarantine allowance expire 31 days after arriving at your final destination.

The coverages contained in the policy are the same globally, with some exceptions depending on your country of residence.
Important note for residents of Brazil: Coverage will not apply without a Bilhete (certificate of insurance). In order to issue a Bilhete, you will need to provide the insurer additional information. Please refer to the Assistance e-mail (medicalba@aig.com) provided in the applicable policy to request a Bilhete. Please note that Emirates will provide the insurer with your name, ticket details and the email address associated with your booking. Please ensure that, at the time of booking, you have provided Emirates or your travel agent with the most up to date email address to receive your Bilhete. Attention: Travel insurance is not health insurance! Read the contractual conditions carefully, observing your rights and obligations, as well as the limit of the insured capital contracted for each coverage.
Observação importante para residentes no Brasil: a cobertura do seguro não se aplica sem a emissão de um Bilhete de Seguro. Para emitir um Bilhete, você precisará fornecer informações adicionais à seguradora. Consulte o e-mail da Assistência (medicalba@aig.com ) para solicitar um Bilhete. Observe que a Emirates fornecerá à seguradora seu nome, detalhes do voô e o endereço de e-mail associado à sua reserva. Certifique-se de que, no momento da reserva, você forneceu à Emirates ou ao seu agente de viagens o endereço de e-mail mais atualizado para receber seu Bilhete de Seguro. At the time of an assistance request or claim, you will need to provide the insurer with relevant information that may be required to process your request or claim. Please read the Data Disclosure section in the policy for more information on how the insurer processes your personal information.
Emirates will not share your personal information with the insurer in the context of coverage, except to verify your trip details at the time of the claim if the insurer is unable to verify such details from you. If you are a resident of Brazil, Emirates will share your personal information with the insurer as required by local law in order to provide you with a certificate of insurance. The insurer will be provided with your name, ticket details and the email address associated with your booking. Please ensure that, at the time of booking, you have provided Emirates or your travel agent with the most up to date email address to receive your certificate. Emirates processes your personal information in accordance with its privacy policy, which can be found on emirates.com.
