Check-in online up to 48 hours before your flight. You can choose a dietary meal and a seat at the same time. At the airport you can drop your bags with us and spend more time relaxing.

Airport check-in

Enjoy a warm welcome at our check-in desks at Dubai International. There’s a check-in area for each travel class or Emirates Skywards membership tier, as well as separate desks for groups and families. We’ll help you to check in your bags and send your mobile boarding pass to your email.

You can check-in and drop off your bags at Dubai International airport 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours before departure if you’re flying to the US.

At most airports you need to arrive 3 hours before departure. However, currently it can be up to 4 hours at some airports, so please check your ticket for the best time to arrive for your journey.

All passengers in the booking must be present at check-in and baggage drop. It’s not possible to check in or drop bags on behalf of another passenger.

Get to your gate on time
You need to go through passport control and security 90 minutes before your flight. Reach your gate no later than 60 minutes before departure if you’re flying in Premium Economy or Economy Class, and 45 minutes before departure if you’re flying in First or Business Class.

It takes the following time to walk to each gate:

A gates up to 20 minutes
B gates up to 15 minutes
C gates up to 25 minutes

Emirates Check-in Ports
We have portable check-in stations at the airport where you can complete check-in with help from our team. Send a mobile boarding pass to your email to present through the airport on your phone, or print one out. Tag your bags and our porters will take them to your flight.
Group check-in
If you’re travelling in a large group or as part of a school trip, use our separate group check-in desks in Dubai to speed up the process. Arrive three hours ahead of your flight and check in together at check-in zone C to make the journey smoother and easier.

Check-in within the UAE

Emirates Home Check-in
Make the most of your time and let the check-in agents come to you, wherever you are in Dubai. We will send a check-in agent to you to weigh and tag your bags. Then they’ll send a mobile boarding pass to your email to present on your phone through the airport, or they can print one out. Then they’ll take your bags to your flight so you can travel handsfree.
Book and travel in First Class* to enjoy complimentary Home Check‑in. Our free Home Check-in service applies to full fare First Class tickets. If you’ve bought your tickets using Skywards Miles or upgraded your ticket with cash or miles, you’ll need to book our paid Home Check-in service.

Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store
You won’t have to travel far from your home, hotel or office in Dubai with our Check in and Travel Store. Drop your bags at ICD Brookfield Place at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) as early as 24 hours and up to 4 hours before your flight, then head to the airport at your convenience.
Our ticketing and check‑in desks will be open daily from 8:00am to 10:00pm. You can check in with our agents, self check-in kiosks or with the world’s first ever check‑in robot assistant. And while you’re there, browse a selection of Emirates‑branded items at our Travel Store and have your order delivered to you.

Emirates City Check-in, Ajman
If you’re travelling from the northern emirates, take advantage of our 24-hour City Check-in at Ajman Central Bus Terminal(Opens an external website in a new tab).
You can check in as early as 24 hours and as late as 4 hours before your flight departs. Present your health documents and check-in your baggage. We’ll send a mobile boarding pass to your email to present on your phone through the airport, or we can print one out.
Emirates Cruise Check-in
Step off the ship when you cruise into Dubai and check in for your flight at Port Rashid Terminal 3 and Dubai Harbour. We’ll make the transition from ship to land as smooth as possible and our port check-in is wheelchair accessible.

At our check-in desks at the port, we'll weigh and tag your bags. Then we’ll send a mobile boarding pass to your email to present on your phone through the airport, or we can print one out. We’ll deliver your bags straight to your flight at Dubai International for no extra fee, giving you more time to enjoy the city.
