|Transfer between terminals||If you are arriving into T1 T2 T3 T4 and T4-S (gate M) please follow EXIT/SALIDA signs and proceed to Emirates Check in Counters in T4 departures to collect your boarding pass. If you are arriving into T4-S (Satélite) from an international flight then you will find Emirates transfer Desk before Passport Control to collect your boarding pass. If you are traveling with separate tickets we would recommend you allow at least 3 hours for the connection.|
|Driving directions||From the M40 (ring road) encircling central Madrid, head onto the A2 (in the direction of Barcelona) and take exit 12 to the M14.|
|Car rental||Car hire companies represented at Madrid Barajas Airport include: Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa and Sixt. Car hire desks are located in terminals 1, 2 and 4.|
|Public transport and taxis||Bus: EMT (Madrid Municipal Transport Company) (tel: 902 507 850; www.emtmadrid.es) runs regular public bus services between Madrid Barajas Airport and central Madrid’s Avenida de América station. Bus 200 stops outside the baggage reclaim area of Terminals 1 and 2, while bus 204 stops outside Arrivals at Terminal 4 (journey time: 30 minutes). Several intercity bus services also call at the airport.
Shuttle: Terravision (www.terravision.eu) offers shuttle bus services from Madrid Barajas Airport to the city centre (journey time: 20-30 minutes; fare: EUR 8).
Taxi: are available from outside all terminals (journey time: 20-30 minutes; fare to city centre from about EUR 20). Passengers should make sure the meter is turned on at the beginning of the journey. Passengers are advised not to accept any offers of taxis made inside the terminal building. AeroCity-Ares Mobile (tel: 917 477 570) provides chauffeur-driven cars.
Train: RENFE (www.renfe.com) trains operate along the recently opened C1 rail connection between Madrid Barajas Airport Terminal 4 and Prínicipe Pio station in the city centre (fare: EUR 2.15; journey time: 40 minutes). The service also stops en route at Atocha (journey time: 25 minutes) and Chamartín (journey time: 11 minutes). There is also a RENFE office in the arrivals area of T1, which provides information about (and sells tickets for) the national rail network.
Underground: Madrid Metro (tel: 902 444 403; www.metromadrid.es) line 8 connects Madrid Barajas Airport with Madrid's city centre station Nuevos Ministerios in the heart of Madrid's financial district (journey time: 12 minutes; fare: around EUR 2). Trains leave from the underground stations at Terminals 2 and 4. The metro also provides links to stations on the Spanish railway network.
|Car parking||Long and short-stay car parking is provided at Madrid Barajas Airport within six public parking areas. P1 (short-stay parking) is an outdoor car park located in front of the terminal building; P2 (short-stay parking) is an indoor car park with direct access to terminals T2 and T3. A ‘parking express' facility (for stays of less than 30 minutes), is located at Terminal 2. Long-term parking is also available with 1,655 spaces; a free shuttle operates between the long-stay car park and all terminals. There are also VIP car parks near each terminal.|
|Information and help desks||Madrid Barajas Airport has more than 20 information counters, located throughout the terminals, with a team of more than 100 'Skycaps' also on hand to assist passengers and provide information. Additionally, there are tourist information counters in the arrival areas of Terminals 1 and 2 and the baggage hall of Terminal 4.|
|Airport Facilities||Money and communications: facilities include two banks, several bureaux de change, ATMs and a post office. There is a 24-hour bank in Terminal 1. Wireless internet access is available in VIP lounges and restaurant areas in all terminals.
Eating and drinking: there are more than 30 restaurants, cafés and bars.
Shopping: there are over 100 shops at the airport, including duty-free.
Luggage: there are offices where lost luggage can be reported in terminals 1 and 4.
Other facilities: there are nurseries in terminals 2 and 4, pharmacies in terminals 1, 2 and 4 and First Aid stations in terminals 2 and 4. Travel agencies and tour operators are also represented. The airport also has a playground and a chapel.
|Conference and business facilities||Seven fully equipped meeting rooms are available for hire (tel: 913 936 519) at Madrid Barajas Airport. A full-service business centre (tel: 913 337 024; www.businesscenterbarajas.com) is located in Terminal 4. There are also VIP lounges in all terminals. High Tech Madrid Aeropuerto Hotel (tel: 915 645 906; www.hightechmadridaeropuerto.com ), one of the closest hotels to the airport, offers a business centre and a number of meeting rooms with capacity for up to 150 delegates.|
