| Public transport and taxis | Bus: Arriva (tel: 2122 2000; www.arriva.com.mt) express buses X4 and X5 depart regularly to Valletta from a bus stop outside the check-in hall. The journey time is around 25 minutes, and tickets allowing two-hour use of local buses are priced at EUR 1.30, or EUR 1.50 for the full day. Local buses 71 and 72 also connect Malta International Airport to Valetta. Other buses serving the airport include X1, which links the airport to the northern town of ÄŠirkewwa; X2, which serves St. Julian’s; and X3, which operates to Bugibba.
Shuttle: the Malta Transfer.com shuttle (www.maltatransfer.com) connects to various destinations in Malta. One-way fares range from EUR 8 to EUR 10. Ticket desks are located in the baggage reclaim area.
Taxi: there is a fixed-fare taxi service, operated by White Taxis (TLWA) (tel: 2182 3017; www.maltataxi.net) to all areas of Malta. The fare to Valetta from the airport is EUR 15, and journey time is about 20 minutes. A taxi booth is located in the Welcomers' Hall, where prepaid tickets can be purchased. |
