DUBAI, U.A.E., 6th October 2013: Emirates has taken delivery of its 38th A380 aircraft, its 7th A380 so far this year, bringing the total number of aircraft in the fleet to 207.
The new aircraft will help the Dubai-based airline meet an increasing demand for the superjumbo on its busiest routes around the world.
This year Emirates expanded its A380 services to New York JFK, Paris Charles de Gaulle and to Sydney. New Emirates A380 services were launched on the Dubai, Brisbane and Auckland route. In December, Emirates will launch its A380 service to Los Angeles and to Zürich in 2014.
Emirates is the largest operator of A380 aircraft in the world and has a further 51 A380 aircraft on order. Nearly 17 million passengers have travelled on the Emirates A380 since it was first launched in 2008 and had the opportunity to experience the ultimate comfort and luxury of the aircraft’s interior.
Two decks offer 427 seats in Economy Class, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 14 luxury First Class Private Suites. Passengers in the premium cabins can socialise in the Onboard Lounge, and First Class passengers can arrive at their destination refreshed in one of two onboard Shower Spas.
Passengers across all cabins can enjoy up to 1,500 channels of the latest movies, TV shows and music from around the world alongside a range of games on the award-winning ice inflight entertainment system. The latest technology allows passengers to stay connected throughout the flight with high-speed Wi-Fi access and mobile phone and data services.
