Driving directionsThe Swiss sector of the airport is accessible from the N1 motorway. From central Geneva, take Rue de la Servette northbound and turn eastbound onto the N1, which leads to the airport. From France, take the D1005 from Ferney or the D984F from Saint-Genis-Pouilly to the border and then turn onto the N1 westbound or eastbound, respectively. In order to avoid Swiss territory entirely, drive via Ferney-Voltaire near Collonges on the D984; at Ferney-Voltaire, follow the signs for Geneva and, just before Swiss customs, take the road on the right to the airport’s French sector.
Car rentalAlamo, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National, and Sixt have desks in the arrivals area of the Swiss sector; rental cars should be returned to the P51 long-term parking lot. In the French sector, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National, and Sixt are represented; cars should be returned to the parking lot adjacent to the main terminal.
Public transport and taxisBus: Buses 5, 10, 23, 28, and Y serve neighborhoods in and around Geneva. For those traveling into the city center, it is probably quicker and easier to get a train.
Shuttle: Free shuttle services depart regularly from outside Arrivals for the following hotels in Geneva: Crown Plaza Geneve, Express Holiday Inn, Ibis, Povenpick Geneve, Nash Airport Hotel, NH Geneva Airport Hotel, and Starling Geneva Hotel and Conference Centre.
Taxis: Taxis can be hailed outside Arrivals. Typically, a fare into the city center will cost CHF30.    
Rail: Passengers arriving at Geneva Airport are entitled to complimentary use of public transport within the canton of Geneva for up to 80 minutes. The free Unireso tickets are dispensed from a machine in the baggage claim area at Arrivals. Alternatively, The Swiss Pass offers unlimited travel on the Swiss Travel System network for 4, 8, 15, or 22 consecutive days or an entire month. There is a railway station opposite the entrance to Geneva Airport; trains depart from there to the city center regularly (travel time: 6 minutes). There are also direct trains to destinations throughout Switzerland and other European countries. Car parkingThere are 265 short-term and about 4,700 long-term parking spaces, plus an additional 220 parking spaces in a dedicated French-sector parking lot, all with easy access to the main terminal. Information and help desksInformation desks (tel: 022 717 7105) are located on the arrivals level and in the transit area of the main terminal. The French sector of the terminal has additional services. There are various tourist information offices for both Swiss and French regions located in the arrivals areas of each sector.
Airport FacilitiesMoney: Banks, bureaux de change, and ATMs are situated in the main terminal. A tax refund service is also available for passengers leaving Switzerland.
Food: There is a range of bars, cafés, and restaurants at Geneva International Airport. A good choice of sit-down eateries, fast-food outlets, and cafés can be found in the food court on the departures level, while a restaurant serving Swiss specialties is located in the arrivals area.
Shopping: Shopping options include duty-free outlets selling cigarettes, alcohol, and perfumes. Other shops at Geneva International Airport include confectioners, watch retailers, and gift boutiques.
Luggage: A porter service (tel: 079 290 2023) is available for a small fee. There are lost property offices on the public concourse (tel: 0900 775 775) and at the train station (tel: 0900 300 300). Left-luggage facilities and lockers are also available at the train station.
Other facilities: There are showers, hairdressers, and a solarium within the main terminal. A pharmacy and a medical center are on hand to deal with health-related issues. Young children can be looked after at the on-suite nursery and play area.
Conference and business facilitiesA small business center offering copying and Internet facilities can be found in Arrivals. Meeting facilities are available at the NH Geneva Airport Hotel (tel: 022 989 9000; www.nh-hotels.com) and the Mövenpick Hotel and Casino (tel: 022 717 1111; www.moevenpick-hotels.com). Additionally, the Palexpo Congress Center (tel: 022 761 1111; www.palexpo.ch) is located nearby.
Disabled facilitiesThe public terminal areas and parking facilities are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Assistance is available for passengers with disabilities; passengers should request special assistance when booking their ticket and notify the airport of their requirements 48 hours before their arrival.
Airport hotelsThere are a number of hotels near Geneva International Airport, many of which operate shuttle services to/from the airport. Hotel reservations can be made via Geneva Tourism and AMDACO, which are represented in the arrivals area.
