The Celtic Manor Resort, City of Newport, Wales
October 1 to 3, 2010
Every two years, teams from the United States and Europe compete for the coveted trophy named after Samuel Ryder in an event co-administered by the European Tour and the PGA of America. The Ryder Cup alternates its location each year between the US and Europe, and has been running since 1927 when it was originally a tournament between golfers from the United States and the United Kingdom. However, the British side expanded to include greater Europe starting in 1979. The 2010 event will be held from October 1 to 3 at the Celtic Manor Resort in the Welsh city of Newport.
